Bitstamp and BTC-e are two very popular exchanges.
I myself would recommend Bitstamp. It's serious, easy to use and has so far never been hacked.

BTC-E.com is good, I have never had any problems with them.

I use Coinbase. Yeah they have some delays depending on your buy/sell limits but it works for me and so far they seem pretty reputable.

If you live in the United States, Coinbase is your best option.

Atomic-Trade exchange offers USD/BTC trading withdrawals.  Quick Verify process.  It's new so still needs some volume of people selling. Plenty of people buying though. LOL

Coinbase is the only reputable USA company that allows you to buy/sell bitcoin besides using local means like localbitcoins. If you are non-USA maybe use bitstamp (I personally would not use fiat deposits/withdrawals with btc-e heard too many bad stories).
