Everybody knows that cryptocurrency needs an infrastructure, but Bytecoin (BCN)/CryptoNote (despite it's technical superiority over bitcoin and forks) lacks of any services at least at surface web.

I invite all of you to start developing open services for Bytecoin (BCN)/CryptoNote technology.

Bounties fund: 14 500 000 BCN and 2 BTC

Anybody interested can join me and add more BCN to this wallet: 27cSmhsS62RDfSHB4fsvVZddhznGK4xgr5vPHWV9QMtAeVCo4hmavfR4hy45hBDmPE9N1ZRNGWzS6an 9e66R2KsBFG2BYEb [updated 6/30/2015]
You could also donate BTC to the address: 12X6PXALnm9TJMp1p7UYZEakYZKdpFX4i6 [updated 6/30/2015]

We need:
1. GUI miner
2. Graphic wallet (similar to Bitcoin-QT, reward is 5 000 000 BCN)
3. P2pool
4. Translations into other languages (reward is 300,000 BCN for the translation). We need an Italian and a French translation. There are German, Greek, Hindi, Portuguese, Russian (we sent 300,000 BCN for each translation).

5. Blockexplorer (done by http://minergate.com pool, 1 000 000 BCN were sent them as a reward)
5. New logo&website (logo contest here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=582743, reward is 2 500 000 BCN!)
6. OSX version (reward is 3 500 000 BCN)

Let's do it!

We donated 5 000 000 BCN and 0.3 BTC from our fund for creating an open source Bytecoin&Monero pool - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=589533.

DStrange, I've checked the wiki page and there actually are some methods that you've marked as "missing", except for "gettransaction".

What we really need is a decent web viewer. It is impossible to browse through the blockchain currently. Can anybody help?

I'll add 1,000,000 BCN for the work.

Is a useful block explorer even possible?  Blocking one seems to be largely the point of the privacy features.

It would only be useful as far as viewing transactions. Addresses are encrypted and have different values for every transaction.

Even the amounts of transactions are obfuscated. I'm not sure what you could see in a block explorer other than maybe volume of transactions.

Seems like they updated wiki info yesterday. Thanks for your remark.

Interesting idea but I support Smooth's question, is it possible or useful in any way?

I guess one thing useful you could do is search for a transaction (by hash) to see if it is getting confirmed. Not much of an explorer, and possibly easy to do in the client (haven't looked).

I think we need block explorer anyway. At least, we'll be able to monitor the blocks in a browser. It's quite annoying to do it in bytecoind. It might not tell us anything, but it should be a good start to try to visualize the chain.

However, I believe this topic is too narrow. We actually lack quite a lot of things. Let's say, the graphic wallet for the beginning.

I propose that we change this topic to collect the donations for the general infrastructure. The donations can be re-assigned to each project as the funds flow into it.

What do we need for the start:

1) Block explorer
2) Graphic wallet (similar to Bitcoin-QT).

Anything else?

An easy GUI miner. I personally think this is more important than the first 2.

p2pool support.

Solo mining won't last if the coin succeeds (otherwise we don't care). P2pool is the next best thing.

A GUI would make life much easier to me.
IMO it is pretty difficult (if not impossible) to create a working blockchain explorer.

After I saw this: https://cryptonote.org/inside.php#blockchain-analysis-resistance
it seems to me that crypto note makes it very hard to analyze BCN blockchain.

good intentions. going to contribute some BTC in near future. can't now - work.

tired of identical bitcoin forks? try out BCN - no ASICs, no transaction tracking https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=512747.0
