Thanks to MtGox and other fraudsters and scammers, reputable banks are having to turn their backs against bitcoin and users of bitcoin. This is a typical case of few rotten apples spoiling the rest.

None of the big4 accept Bitcoin, coinjar bitcoin exchange (also created by a scammer) was using NAB.

For the mainstream in Australia (other than self righteous hipsters) Bitcoin is done for.

Am not convinced coinjar is a scam. I was just about to buy some coin through them but other financials got in the way so I pulled my funds back without problem.

I did find them really slow on both the deposit and withdraw and there prices lag a lot, so i would not go as far to recommend them.

But scam maybe a little strong.

Don't ignore who created coinjar, check who the owners are. One of the largest Bitcoin scammers in history owns it.

Would you trust mark karp if he opened a new exchange? I don't think so

But people forget history too soon.

Coinjar are scamming Australians, why do people still trust scammers? Amazes me

Google Zhou Tong

He stole (under fake security breach) Bitcoins worth Tens of Millions of Dollars today

Now he is scamming dumb Australians even more with Coinjar, most people are not aware!

http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2012/08/bitcoinica-users-sue-for-460k-in-lost-bitcoins/

He should actually be in jail now, but since bitcoins don't have legal status he got away

Do your research, there are too many scams around Bitcoin!

Yeah this is true about Coinjar, I have expressed my annoyance at this multiple times before in many threads. I think it's not right for a known scammer to go on make millions if dollars when he was responsible for a scam where people lost a lot of money. I also refuse to use that service

Most people I believe are not aware that coinjar is owned by Zhou Tong

I remember last year at $120. We brought up the issue of how much room bitcoin had to rally with regards to governments and concluded that bitcoin had a lot of room to rally because it was so small that it was not attracting the attention of any governments yet and nobody would bother to regulate it or interfere. It was good times and a bright future. Nothing bad had happened yet, and I didn't think it would happen any time soon. I thought even at $1000 it would still be too small for regulation/bans and that it might make it all the way to $10,000 before such a thing would begin to happen.  I was very bullish back then.  Now if you were to pose the same question today...

Would you trust mark karp if he opened a new exchange? I don't think so

But people forget history too soon.

Coinjar are scamming Australians, why do people still trust scammers? Amazes me

Name one person who Coinjar has scammed. Every BTC I own has been purchased through Coinjar and I've never lost a cent.

I don't give a shit about the founders' history, as long as their business does what it claims to.

If anyone actually has evidence that Ryan is a scammer then I suggest you contact the AFP: http://www.afp.gov.au/

I have no affiliation with Coinjar or any of their employees. I'm just a satisfied customer who's slightly drunk right now.

So who will coinjar use now? CBA had kicked them to the curb prior to NAB.
