Yes. It happens to me occasionally.  I set the timeout to a couple of minutes an I keep retrying. It eventually goes through.

Yup, I get that as well.  I have to wonder though what about placing an order would cause a database lock like that

It's sluggish sometimes for me, usually during price spikes.
