What kind of equipment do you have or plan to get? ASIC? GPU? CPU? What kind of coins do you want to mine? Bitcoin? scrypt? others? |

what are you trying to mine? don't mine bitcoin, it's not worth it choose the alt-coin you want to mine, download the miner after you get enough coins, trade them for bitcoin  |

cgminer is what you are looking for... bfgminer would be working too I guess. But depending on the coin you will also need specialised hardware to seriously mine. |
