And with things like mantal and nvidias version (forget the name) we will have a low level api making what advantage the console had obsolete. Directx 12 is basically 11 with mantal bolted on.

Amd suck at drivers and mental is a complete fail as a launch but it will get better in time. Nvidias big win is steam backing them but the companies ethics are coming to bite them on there behind. No one will touch them in the business world because they blamed everyone for something at some point, never them ha ha. Not saying any company is good in this hell of a world we've allowed to happen.... But that's another subject.

Ps4 is by far the better console if any, xbone is aweful and the sales are worse than what's advertised and only going get worse. Microsoft is dead and that's a good thing! Its just in its death throws. This goes into IP and copyright with the advent of 3d printers and decentralised.... Everything there hold on innovation will die, same with all areas of centralised control but again, another subject but is highly relivent.

For £400/$500??? You can make a computer easy which will run anything out today. Things like low level api is despretly needed and when in full production in a few years the ps4/xbone will look so dated! There's a HUGE gain in processing power from these solutions and any card with mantal already will see 50% + improvement .... If there were more than 2 games but it is the beginning so give it time.

I don't think games like "The last of us" or "God of war" are a 7 yo games You can build a PC at the same price, that will be close in terms of performance (a 400$/€ PC won't perform better than a PS4) but the thing about consoles is exclusives, and if I were to buy a console it would be the PS4 as it can play games at full 1080p and with decent frame rates unlike the XBOne.

I'm a PC guy and I didn't own a console in almost a decade now, but that being said I still believe there is a market for consoles due to exclusives and game library.

With a little digging, Finding parts cheaper at different places you can easily get this down to £450. Hell, i don't use cases or pay tax so i'm well within my budget and nearly done it for £350 if you take them away! I said 280X a bit rashly but i stand by my point of it can be done with £450 INCLUDING tax, Im just not going waste my time working it out for you as i got much more productive stuff do with my time. If you want better other components remove the 280X for a 270X which is more than capable of smashing any game in still today and a Kaveri chip in and you will still be under £450 and have the extra ooomph from the kaveri APU graphics which work really well in Xfire tbh with 2133hz+ memory. Anything below that really hurts the APU's performance. Also notice i didnt use shitty parts like Swift power etc etc!

1-No windows copy included (if it is a gaming PC you are forced to use windows
2-No drives, (yes there are people like me who still buys Games in boxes and collector editions whenever I can) at least I own the copy of the game and can resell it or exchange it later on
3-You talk about your case as it is the general case of everyone, you don't pay tax ? good for you, so you can buy the PS4 without taxes as well in that case it does drive the price down.
4-I never talked about the XBOne, I always said PS4 and all my previous comment are there, also a console will most likely be sitting in the living room and I want to see someone putting a caseless pc in his living room under his TV, (some exception would want to do it) but I doubt anyone who want's to buy a console will consider anything like that, no to mention that he owns already a PC if he wants to buy a console and it doesn't go the other way around
5-Yup APU needs high speed memory that's way the PS4 is using very expensive unified 8GB GDDR5 memory

Of course you won't waste time working it out for me, not only you blow your own 450£ while lacking some important things, your 520£ is more 50% more expensive than the price of a PS4.
Also you are forgetting the whole point of consoles = Exclusives, the guy owns a pc for sure (who doesn't in this day and age) and wants a console for multimedia, and games and consoles has a larger library and games genre ( Coming from a PC gamer)
