Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Why wouldn't you just buy from APMEX if you don't mind me asking?  I've bought from them before they are certainly trustworthy.

Are you asking me? If so, it's because they don't accept BTC. I could always sell the BTC and buy it myself but where's the fun in that?
