Turns out nothing was wrong. Now we have to test some things.

12:44 checkpoint for genesis block does not contain an actual hash... and they don't have any "CCheckpointData" section which should contain last checkpoint unix timestamp, total txes between genesis and last checkpoint and estimated txes per day after last checkpoint. 12:48 BrooklynGuy Our concern is this: unless there is something magical in other sections of code, this will probably leave the coin wide open to exploit and blockchain "issues". things are not looking good for this coin, since trading now re-opened, waiting to send coins and take the profit

There was no fork, the block explorer happened to be down. All pools are running on the same chain, and the blockchain is fine.

The situation is resolved at Poloniex.
I froze WC as a precaution when I saw that the hash for the current block at Polo didn't match to the block explorer.
I contacted the WC devs, they immediately fixed the block explorer (in like under 90 secs), I checked everything, it looked good, so we then UNfroze WC at Poloniex so that people could get back to trading.
Sorry there had to be downtime at Polo for trading WC, but we would rather be cautious.

Bounties for marketing? It's doing wonders for the other coin.
