The next big thing will be an anonymous coin IMO.

As countries start to try to crack down on/tax BTC you'll see the need for people to hide their transactions. Plus there are a lot of people holding big BTC balances who would like to hide their sales. And then there's the black market. All signs point to anonymous for mine.

My money is on Darkcoin but we'll see which one succeeds first!

The problem with your theory is assuming that this is proprietary to Darkcoin, when various alternates have discussed implementing it themselves.  As well, by default, most coins are already anonymous in the sense that your personal information is not included on the public ledger.

I think you meant hidden transactions and I think the assumption there is that if you're that paranoid about being traced then you're probably more likely to keep the stuff in cold storage.

My theory? I just stated an opinion. More like a prediction, really.

"My money is on Darkcoin but we'll see which one succeeds first!" ---- I'm clearly not stating that Darkcoin is the only coin trying to achieve anonymous transactions. I agree hidden transactions is probably more accurate. The idea is to reduce the exposure of pseudonymous addresses in the ledger. As it stands with BTC/everything else everyone can see who paid who, who bought what. Personal information isn't logged but with enough tools someone could track that down and by following your wallet they know where every coin has gone. That's a problem in my mind.

BlackCoin does not have services to prop up its price. Price seems to be propped up by multipools and speculators.

Here are some links (updated again) for anyone just joining us: Please PM me if you want me to add another  Wink

BC Faucet - http://54.186.214.68/BlackFaucet/public_html/index.php

wow, that was actually fun.

When I requested the faucet drip, I expected a tiny drop but when it arrived I was shocked at it's value (far more than I expected -- .05 BC).  Thanks for the info

The CC is so volatile right now I traded the coin up to .052.  I know if it was a lot of  BC it would not have traded as quickly but it's crazy over there.

hahahahahaaaaa,  I bought into Blackcoin and Darkcoin only minuses a part from one another on April 11, BC was too quiet for me, so sold my couple of coins for a tiny profit and focused my energy on what appeared to be a better bet (BRK).  BRK did well, but BC is doing fantastic.

I sold my BC at 0.00009700 on April 11 -- yeah that hurts

Dude... I sold 230K for 2000 sat.... THAT hurts  Wink

EDIT:

Got back in later though.... but with much less then before

It's a pump and dump.  A month and a half ago the pump of the month was Mintcoin and Vertcoin.

There's nothing special about Blackcoin at all and here are the reasons

- Faster Transaction speeds ~ a lot of alternate coins can claim this too
- Proof of Stake.  Old mechanism ~ Peercoin, NxT and other coins have had this for ages
- Bitclone (the client is a reskin of BTC)
- Distribution.  Top 100 wallets own the majority of Blackcoin.
- Novelty merchandise

I know the Bagholders and Whales will say I am a naysayer but there's absolutely nothing here to push Blackcoin into the $100+ million capitalization and let alone to keep it there.

Litecoin was a fluke, in part due to the dumb funds who missed out on BTC and threw money on LTC, and it's not likely to be repeated since those funds have since learned their lesson and realize they sit on worthless LTC coins.

sounds like sour grapes form someone who missed the boat..

I'm glad I got in early - LOL

I think it will reach its peak this weekend and crash slowly in 2-3 weeks after that, but it will still be over 3mil in marketcap.

With all do respect, have you been in a coma the past week and just woke up? BC is on CoinKite, Moolah, and Coinpayments to just name a few. In a few weeks we are shipping the BlackCoin card, and there is a lot being done behind the scenes to get BC everywhere. Everyone can speculate and try to predict when BlackCoin price is going to stop increasing, but it is all speculation. BlackCoin is not an ordinary crypto-currency. BlackCoin has a brilliant developer, an awesome support team, a passionate community, and my 14 years of experience building & promoting products. We have amazing things in the pipeline that will leave everyone in awe. So feel free to speculate, but I assure you the only thing that will be popping is the corks of champagne when BackCoin value reach $1.00 by Sunday.

Mintcoin and Vertcoin pulled the "hail Mary" speech like you just made.

Blackcoin is a Bitclone with a few minor improvements and old PoS, it's a $hitclone which is currently being pumped and then it'll be pumped and then dumped and left to die.

Nobody needs a novelty card, coffee mug, mouse pad or whatever  you're selling.

There ain't no Revolution like a NEMolution.  The only solution is Bitcoin's dissolution! NEM!

You should take a moment and really read your comments. You sound like a bitter ex-girlfriend who hasn't been able to move on. You are more than entitled to your opinion. However, I am not sure why you are on a campaign to discredit BlackCoin? If BlackCoin was a person I would have assumed he slept with your lover. If you do not want to buy and/or support BlackCoin that is also your choice. Just move on... But your obsession is kind of "creepy".

I am pretty sure Mintcoin, Vertcoin did not have a multipool that is providing daily buying pressure. So that does make blackcoin a bit different.

I'm gonna say this traction will last for a few more days. Once it hits about .0016 then there'll probably be major market movement.

Urrrrrgg

I think we found the ceiling, dammm it, just when I cash out of one position to jump in here, the rise comes to a screeeeeching halt, purchased at 92 had to sell at 91 because it was clearly reversing, then after that the rate drops so low so fast have to take a couple more losses, then I finally get in under it and start making my money bank and ended up a bit.  of course now it flat lines.  uuuuurrrrrrrgggggggg -- fun though

You can't compare this to VTC.. there's much less mining "inflation".  The large % of vertcoin hasn't even been mined yet.. so that will dilute existing coins.  All PoW coins suffer from that.

PoS is vastly superior for the short term in terms of value.. but I'm still not sure if it's actually a secure protocol.  If it is, it will replace BTC one day.. I'm not sure if that will be BC, or some other PoS coin.. but one of them will.

(disclosure: I'm long on both VTC and BC atm)

Well, never mind about three days. Well, that's the nature of the beast. It's always some sort of speculation.

Who knows though, maybe this is just an extended "hiccup." But dang, 8,000 BTC worth of volume is a heck of a lot...

Well the network , staking , etc.. all working pretty nicely.. so far i can say this is better than BTC for the originally intended purpose of a crypto currency.  (I mean outside of all the crazy speculation... which i agree is just a bubble begging to be popped, atm)
