Hello,

I get no connection for at least two days and I haven't got a clue why. When I open Electrum, the Client tried to connect but nothing happens.
I changed the server and I also changed the protocol type..nothing. I deactivated the firewall and the antivirus-software (kill all processes), I created a new user profile and installed a fresh version of Electrum..the same..no connection.
I am using the newest version of Electrum in the meantime but I had the same issues before I updated. OS:Window

Has anybody an idea, perhaps this is due a windows update?

Someone joined IRC with a similar issue.

The fault seemed to be with DNS in python.

User could ping a server but could only connect with IP.  So we know that DNS is working in the OS (the hostname could resolve to ping it) but it wasn't working in the client.

Short-term solution is as discussed - use the IP address vs. FQDN to connect.
