They still have impressive proportion of international retail market - would have sent Ƀ prices trending North, if they had gone the other way  Sad
The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

Patience, young Padawan. The truth is self-evident. All businesses will be transacting in BTC within a few years.

Forgive me, now I must return to my meditations on the end of capitalism.

Sounds like they would like to hear from customers that we want them to accept it. Let's do it! Buy Amazon gift cards with Bitcoin (and save 3% at Gyft) and let Amazon know that's how you got the gift card!

So why don't you all stop posting your laments here...and do what I just did..log into your account at Amazon...go to "contact us" and tell them what you think?

I really am not saying that in a snarky way...I'm just saying that it doesn't hurt to let them know directly what you as a customer think.

I really am not saying that in a snarky way...I'm just saying that it doesn't hurt to let them know directly what you as a customer think.

For what it's worth...I got a response within about ten minutes. I fully admit that it is almost certainly a "form response" about Bitcoin and nearly everyone will get the same one.(Although the grammar of the first two lines doesn't seem as polished as the rest and may not be "form").

The point is...someone at least paid attention to it...read enough of it to recognize what I was writing about...responded...and no doubt put a check mark somewhere in the tally of topics that concern customers.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts regarding the Bitcoins.

I would like to let you know that we currently don't accept bitcoins as your payment method for your order, I believe that this is a disappointing news.

However it's a good thing that you've brought this up to our attention and we'll consider your feedback as we plan further improvements.

Strong customer feedback like yours is very important in helping us continue to improve our website and services. I will pass your message on to the appropriate department in our company. We always want to know how our customers react to all aspects of shopping on our website.

One of our aims at Amazon.com is to provide a convenient and efficient service.

We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Best regards,
Lara T.

I believe that one day you WILL see BTC as a payment option on Amazon. It is only a matter of time.

Do they want to be 'trending'? Seems to me like Amazon is about as Conservative as can be in their core business (undercut everyone else) and just 'trendy' in their way of doing it. Sure it seems like Bitcoin would be a part of that, but maybe undercutting Bitcoin/Visa/Mastercard/etc is just another long term plan.

Because the trend is not as big as you think. It will take time to grow to a phase where places like Amazon will accept BTC.

they are trading with a P/E ratio of 535 (http://finance.yahoo.com/echarts?s=AMZN), the whole company is a bubble waiting to explode.

I agree, it’s much more likely for a lot of other websites to accept BTC before Amazon does. They really do have a more conservative corporate model. They wouldn't be willing to take a “risk” on something they aren't confident will give them a strong ROI.

When in doubt, blame China.   Roll Eyes

OKCoin Bitcoin ATM and BTC China has some "new product".

I just wrote them an email too.

Don't put Bitcoin into the "topic" of your email.  They probably have a form letter that is kicked out when that keyword triggers it.
