An alternative blockchain explorer service for alternative cryptos

Note: Explorer additions are currently suspended

After a hectic early 2017, we are reaching the limits of our current infrastructure,
back-office tools especially. So rather than jeopardizing stability of current
explorers, we are suspending addition of new explorer for Summer 2017, and we will
use that time to upgrade our back-office and automation tools.

Please use bitcointalk messages or cryptoid.uservoice.com for technical suggestions and support tickets.

Future plans include better support for public ledgers, sleuth/money trails tools, more stats/charts and blockchain.info-compatible API.
The explorers are built on alternative tech, not related to abe, insight or other existing explorers.

New coins will be considered for inclusion on a case by case basis, current requirements for inclusion are a wallet daemon that compiles under Ubuntu 14 LTS or 16 LTS, a bitcoin-compatible API, and to help cover the hosting costs.

Explorers are running on a high performance infrastructure, which is upgraded regularly. Currently there are 18 servers for the wallet daemons, plus two web/db servers (one main, one backup/failover) and a storage/backup server.
Note that to maintain performance when block-chains are attacked or suffer issues, wallet servers aim for no more than 15% CPU usage. With 70+ blockchains, there are always a few experiencing issues.

We will not delist blockchains because they get too large, too busy or just to make room.
We do not restrict data to just the latest transactions or sorry you with "this address has too many records to display".
We do plan for being capable of handling a blockchain in 12 months, and beyond.
We do plan to survive social media spikes in times of crisis (forks, exchange hacks, reverts, etc.) and we did handle a couple already!

Note that due to unclear BitLicense requirements, requesting an explorer is not possible for New York state residents or citizens. If you happen to live or be a New York state citizen, please contact the NY DFS for further inquiries.

Great site. The Rich List and Extraction feature are awesome.
But please add more coins. So far Darkcoin is the only interesting coin.

Thanks! I'm open to suggestions, mostly for coins "in use" (at least on an exchange) but that still don't have much infrastructure.

can you please add LGC coin, still new and progressing.
I'll give it a try and post in your thread if I get stuck on dreaded block 2442 Wink

edit: LGC/Logicoin added and synchronized, will ANN in your thread!

RIC (RieCoin) added. Blockchain is still synchronizing, information is still many days behind.

Also made some changes so that synchronizing blockchains won't affect the update rates for synchronized chains.

I gotta say I'm very impressed with the explorer, specially since it was written from scratch.
Congrats and keep up the good work.

    MUN (Muniti) added, Malta's coin.

Also changed the rich lists to display last change as an age (x days, y hours, etc.) rather than a date/time.

Added some visual feedback when a new block is detected.

Blockchain Explorer tabs are now preserved if you navigate (say from the rich list) and then hit the browser back button, and as a side effect, you can now link to the rich & extraction tabs.

    Added an embryo of API.

Historical extraction charts are now available for pools.

Seriously awesome service. I'd be interested in a couple of things:

How do you crawl the richest? I've been looking around and I can't find any help at all.

Also, do you fancy adding Hirocoin? :-) Your explorer has some wonderful features that ours doesn't! We've just about stabilised around 1k sat, and been out a month or so!

This is kick ass! Very useful but needs more coins like people have said. Will be watching for updates.

    I'm open to suggestions!

I'm running the site as an experiment, and don't anticipate to make money on it (ie. my own time is "free"), however the site will eventually have to cover its own hosting costs, so besides personal curiosity/interest, how many more coins will depend on how much hosting donations/bounties/ads cover.

Just found this thread, but have seen these charts some time ago and thought (still think) they're great. Good job, dev!

Since you're not thinking about this as a real commercial venture, how about open sourcing it?

    Piggycoin explorer added!

The transaction pages now have a "raw transaction" tab, where you can see the gory details in pretty JSON.

Tagged wallets & addresses are now visible in the block & transaction pages (essentially limited to mining pools right now).

Love your site.  Would be great if you could add Cannacoin. http://cannacoin.cc  It's a small but growing coin out of the Seattle area.  We would sincerely appreciate it!

Current requirements for inclusion are to help cover the hosting costs, which are a few dollars per month per blockchain (web & db server, clients daemon VMs & backups).

As more blockchains are added, I'm maxing out the initial VMs, so more or bigger ones will be needed.

My own time is "free", but I don't want to run it as a loss Smiley

Recently added Proof of Stake blockchains:

The explorer UI was initially geared towards Proof Of Work cryptos, but some aspects like extraction stats or difficulty aren't too relevant for Proof Of Stake cryptos.
Changes will happen incrementally to provide more relevant PoS information, suggestions welcome!
