You gave IOCoin theirs for 0.05 btc and yet you're asking 0.3 btc from APEX plus you want it yearly?  Your prices is not very fair and I suggest everyone avoid your service if you can't even come up with a more fixed price.  This other guy offers lifetime service for 0.25 btc and I believe 0.15 btc for yearly.
No, the explorers have been 0.25 for the last weeks, and aren't sponsored through just posted bounty offers. But the BTC/USD rate has crashed recently, and servers costs are still paid in USD or EUR... If BTC price keeps in the lower 4xx range, then 0.35 could be the next price. At 0.3 you were actually offered a price a bit lower (in USD) than other recent cryptos (when BTC was higher vs USD).

As for lifetime offers or un-provisionned services, well, I won't do that race to the bottom, period. Blockchain storage, CPU & memory requirements grow over time, and I'm not going to over commit to just pull the plug in 6 months. The current infrastructure WILL BE upgraded every few months to accommodate growth (already has been once), even if no new blockchain explorer is added.

Hello,
please can you consider adding GML to the block explorers?
We really need it, thx for your time.

Recently added explorers: Quantum2, BlackToken, Librexcoin, SoleCoin & BigBullion.

New experimental feature: Staking Addresses

The "extraction" tab for blockchain using "proof of stake" will now list the top 10 staking addresses for the last blocks.
I will be tweaking further tweaking it, the purpose is to give a rough estimate of how many wallets or stake holders are actually staking.

SSL is now mandatory on all our explorers

All http links will redirect to https.

API calls using http are still accepted for a while, but they will be redirected to https in the near future. If you're using clients that are not https-capable to query the API, please upgrade.

Hi,

I can access an account balance with 'https://chainz.cryptoid.info/COIN/api.dws?q=getdifficulty&address=whatever' from my browser, but any scripted attempt to do this results in a cloudflare page stating:

The owner of this website (chainz.cryptoid.info) has banned your access based on your browser's signature (15fb8490c2b502fe-ua48).

The python call I am using is:

url = ("https://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/api.dws?q=getbalance&a=" + a)
html = urllib.urlopen(url).read()

Is there any way around this?

Thanks.

It's not bad looking actually. I can do a simple CallmeJake which is great, but expensive if you pay hosting, etc. Plus, just compiling a daemon on a server these days seems very costly. AWS is useless unless you take a paid plan, and even Digital Ocean is playing up and running out of virtual memory on the lower deal offers.

Out of interest, what are you charging monthly?

I'm not in the market at the moment, but others are.

Is there an API query for getting total wallets or total addresses?  I'd also like to pull price and market cap.  Is that possible?

I don't charge monthly as I don't have time to keep track of payments -- and I would rather be working on improving the explorers.

So I only ask for a yearly contribution, which depending on BTC/USD rate and blockchain size is currently between 0.25 & 0.3 BTC per year, new or slow blockchains being of course cheaper to host than fast moving or already large blockchains for obvious reasons. Part of that covers the setup cost/time, and part is amortized hosting costs - I will not dump blockchains once they get too large months down the road (like other services have been doing).

Is there an API query for getting total wallets or total addresses?  I'd also like to pull price and market cap.  Is that possible?

Currently no, but it would be simple to add.
Do you know or already use an API about these I could mimic for compatibility?

Seems to be an issue of urllib that doesn't send "good looking" http requests, so you are getting categorized as spam/abuse software.

I guess your options are to either use a better library or tweak the calls using something like what is described in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/13303449/urllib2-httperror-http-error-403-forbidden

No I don't.  I'm wanting it incorporate that information on a website.  I'm currently using the 'totalcoins' query and would like to include some other stats.  I could use some other sites to get price and market cap but I can't do that for total wallets or total addresses.  I'd prefer to get it from one location.  Just makes it easier.

When you look at the Rich List, under Wealth Distribution, there is a list of the Top 10-1000 and then a Total.  That would be a useful total for me.

Ok, I'll see about standardizing some of that, you can currently access these via private APIs for market cap & price (https://chainz.cryptoid.info/stats.dws) and for wealth/addresses (https://chainz.cryptoid.info/explorer/index.stats.dws?coin=drk for darkcoin).

The word of warning is that private APIs can be changed at any time without warning, but they will probably not change for a couple of weeks at least Wink
Should be enough for an official API to be available, and for you to see if you find what you want.

Thanks fairglu, I'll try that. I think it's cloudflare just not liking header-less requests, I use the same call for exchange API's etc. and no issues. Will update post later with results.

edit: yep, chucked some user agents in there and now works, thanks mate! Smiley

Added getreceivedbyaddress to the API.

Added a few loading animations. To see them you will probably need to check pool addresses or wallets that have been staking for a long time.

CloudFlare is easily pleased Smiley

You mean somewhere type the part of the coin name/short names and it would list those with matching explorers?
Been mulling about it, the explorer dropdown and list are growing too large.

Hi Fairglu,
Is it possible to somehow mark one of the wallets on the Unobtanium rich list?
uRAN4dj3... the #1 wallet, is Cryptsy cold storage. We've been able to verify that through several withdrawals that trace back to Cryptsy. Since it's a whopping 29% of the outstanding supply, it would be nice if it could somehow be identified.

Exactly, that would be easier and faster. I'm sure the list of supported coins will only grow. Smiley

Recently added blockchains: RootCoin & Pesa

The main web/db server was also just switched to a new one with "more" (RAM, CPU...), both to accomodate blockchains growth and... upcoming features!

Old server will be kept as hot backup server until we are confident the new server is fully stable.
