if history is any indication it should go well above the last high of $1200. I'm hoping for 10k by end of year.

You don't need to worry about the short-term ups and downs if you are planning to hold bitcoin for a long period of time (a year plus). Smiley

Duration does help and on the bright side if it can beat a 3% bond or GIC then your in the clear
20% for a high risk stock lol.

10K by the end of the year? 20x in 5 months? You are expecting the 2013 to repeat itself.  Wink

20x in 5 months? We probably need a new "Willy" bot on the exchanges to archive that goal lol. Wink

Corrections are healthy!

More merchants accepting BTC will lead to greater liquidation (from those merchants) in the short term but the improvement in awareness among customers and adoption by other big merchants will grow the market.

The problem is the balance between investment and medium exchange, the latter won't lead to higher prices and IS the primary objective of the currency.

Primary objective is to be a medium of exchange which will not be subject to inflation.

After large scale adoption, hopefully prices will be stable.

Agree, but personally I hope they stabilize somewhere north of 1000USD.  Smiley

Trend for short term is going down.

Unless there is good news, it will keep going down for a while.

And the price is already getting back to around $590 on bitstamp now, and looks to be pretty stable there.
I was in fact planning to buy some more bitcoin if the price drops to $500, but I guess I couldn't do it soon. Smiley

The price has been pretty stable in the current price, and we now need to have a big good news to break the $600 resistance (or a bad news to go below $550).
