so i finally decided to get into cryptos (i have a very demanding day job which has kept me away so far). any recommendations? is it best just to purchase certain cryptocurrencies or mine them? i noticed there seem to be a lot of coins that are just given away... is this a new trend or something?

i have a little btc on bter that a friend sent me so i can buy anything they have on that site
