Look at the sub-forum the post is in, think for a moment, everything falls into place!  pekv2 is clearly not talking about the BTC price but the cost of the new forum software.

I think you may the glue eater and/or sniffer

It is just because when I hear "price" I think Bitcoin ...

Now ... back to the topic! : this forum deserves best software, but I must say I cannot find any new threads about this?

Umm.. well if you just think about it as a normal communication platform, 1 million sounds too much but let's take it as investment.

There are around 5000 users online now, let's say total active userbase is 30k
1000000/30000 =33.33$ Per user.

I am sure theymos will be able to earn more than that from per user via AD's and other new features.
On top of that It will be opensource, so If they really made it as theymos wants, you can say He's paying 1 million dolllars to make a new forum software for us and our future generations.

I must say a million is a huge price but big IT projects are very expensive.

I hope in that price new forum software will be something amazing.

We need very secure, fast, and extensive software for the forum, this one is (with respect) quite a piss off at times.
All of this costs money, and not little, there will be 100's of hours of work into this new forum, and that is expensive but oh-so-good for the stability and such.
