Seems odd that people don't understand the buy and sell wall psychology yet...
Generally:
Buy wall = someone wants to sell so they create fake confidence and sell into the fresh buy orders.
Sell wall = someone wants to buy so they create fake fear and buy the cheap coins from weak hands.
Cinni = sell walls and buy walls. It's a battle that the seller(s) is winning right now until we get some big news, then the seller will pull away (stop dumping) because they know news makes the coin worth more they can sell higher.
Pretty simple stuff...

So people see all of those buys and assume that it's about to take off so they start buying up the Cinni as well because they don't wanna be left behind. Then, after so many buys, the initial buyer who put up the fake buy wall dumps and makes his profit. I'm assuming that's what just happened here. |

Wall refers to the depth chart because it literally looks like a wall on the depth chart. Walls would probs be >5 BTC. A healthy depth chart looks smooth. A manipulated one looks blocky. The 1.0 cinni buys are just bot-protection. Stops bots creating a huge buy-sell spread beacuse the bot only looks at price, not quantity/volume. I didn't realise most people around here don't understand trading so well.. Stay safe peeps! That is why most people lose money here. |

Nope There are 2 different kinds of psychological methods to "manipulate" the market: 1) Spamming 1 Coin orders which are very near at each other (i.e. increasing the price by 1 sat per order). This exploits the depth graph of mintpal as it only shows a specific amount of different values. If someone spams such buy orders, the graph will show only a let's say the 10 highest bids and therefore a very flat curve for buys - suggesting there are no buys at all. However, it's just a visual on the used mintpal graph software. 2) Someone place a huuge buy/sell order. As high/low so that it's just visible without scrolling, but as low/high that it doesn't get filled. This forces people to believe the coin will skyrocket/crash now and panic buy/sell. The manipulator instead places his 'real' order on the opposite, thus forcing/pulling others into their much smaller sell/buy order. Hope it's clear At huge pumps/dumps they readjust their big fake buy/sell orders to further support the trend. Edit: important to mention that not each huge price development is a result of manipulation. And even if you recognize it, if it's a big one (not this twitter 20sec shit) you can still profit from it  |

Usually you should check for the exchange with highest volume as others exchange just follow highest volume price, at this moment mintpal is the volume leader on cinni. |

Anyone know about icurrex? Seems they will include Cinni when they launch?   Looks like a decent site and seems it will be multi lingual looking at bottom of page, be great if we shift the focus away from Mint as people are shooting themselves in the foot moving all their Cinni onto one exchange trying to play pump and dump games Also Cinni is the wrong coin for people who wanted a quick pump and dump and those type of traders are being filtered out now, only reason its so easy to convince weak hands of a dump right now is because of the large amount of cinni that has shifted recently to Mint. Its easy for a whale to buy up large amounts and manipulate when everyone sticks to one exchange. Instead of panic selling move some Cinni to other exchanges, there are 16 or 17 sites where it could be traded or even keep some aside for staking in wallets and get interest, its free Cinni just for supporting the network and all helps to reduces the abnormal amount that is being held on Mint now. |

Yes thank you Haggis and Heartastack! Very helpful. Really explains alot. I'll memorize these techniques so I know what I'm looking at from now on. I second that with any good blogs, forums, sites that you guys might suggest? From personal experience... I only learned from losing a shitload of money - that'll learn a man quick lol. I tried studying too, but human emotion overwhelms very easily. I just made sure each time I lost or won a trade that I tried to understand what was going on. And just know that everything is happening for a reason... i.e. why would someone waste their time and energy with a 1.0 order worth nothing.. must be a reason for it.. investigate everything. It's also specific to every market and exchange, they will all have their own flavours. I guess that's like learning American English and then visiting Scotland and understanding nothing. |
