hi, i want the optimal settings for my rig, it's my first rig and it took quite some time and effort, the devil is in the details as they say.

-5x  sapphire 280x vapor tri-x http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=1&gid=3&sgid=1227&lid=1&pid=2131&leg=0
-2x evga supernova g2 1300watt
-asrock h81 pro btc
-kingston ssdnow v300 120gb
-4 gb corsair vengeance 1600mhz
-intel g3420
-5 usb risers powered

electricity inclusive.

win8 pro 64
catalyst 13.12 (driver packaging version 13.251)
sdk 2.9

What's the best mining program out there?

Currently i'm running guiminer scrypt 0.5 (win32) on windows 8.1 64, i could not find cgminer 3.7.2 or whatever version is best for scrypt mining.
I'm getting between 650 and 690 khs per card under "280x" settings in guiminer and no overclocking or undervolting.
I've tried overclocking with the trixx utility but i get blank screens when i change the memory speed.  Even when i keep everything stock and let it run at night it'll crash, but it does not look like it, because the fans are blowing hard but no heat, the row of lights on the back of the cards are not doing much.

those values are the same as "280x" in guiminer, and that gives me 650 ish.   right now it's just 450 per card, maybe because i turned bitcoinqt on?  bitcoinqt v0.9.1.0-g026a939-beta (64-bit) keeps crashing on me whenever i click ok when the date and time pop up comes.

Oh i have guiminer set on coinshift, could that be it?

vaporx trix mount hynix memory, they should reach 750 easy

close other application and try again, leave the core clock at 1100 and mem 1500

Try not to push too hard, your power supply isn't big enough... try maintain your hashrate at about 650-700.

2 times 1300 watt is not enough? evga gold rated, 3 gpu's one one, 2 gpu's and mobo on the other.  A few days ago all cards were mining at 900khs and higher, now they are around 700 again. I didn't change anything. Does anyone have optimal settings for these cards? what programs do i use for mining, for overclocking, can i update the bios on the cards to increase performance?
