Seriously, trying to hide a 5% pre-mine as a 0.5% pre-mine, did you really think that would work or did you completely screw up the code. Not sure which would be worse TBH.

I don't think it's 5% premine. If I remember correctly the the initial OP stated 5 coins per block. Probably an error. But it's 5k per block. So I think 0.5% is correct.

Check the source code. The real premine is 0.1%.

EDIT: I edit from 5m per block to 50k as the explorer changed it's mind and I thought I'd misread when I checked my link and saw 50k.

This was an obvious attempt to get away with a large premine.
It's very easy to say "oops I added an extra 0, silly me!" after you are caught.
If you get away with it, awesome, if you don't, no big deal! Why wouldn't you try to scam if there are no consequences!!
