I have just replaced the power cord on my mining system. It has 2 5770's, a 5850, and a 5670. I am using a 760 watt psu. This is the old power cord.

Without knowing the complete circumstances of how it broke I would speculate that it could be a faulty cord. I can only think of plastic/rubber getting brittle when exposed to cold, is your miner located in some place that is extremely cool? (ie outside or basement)

watts divided by volts gives amps
thus your cord load would be (maximum)
760 / 120 if american = 6.333amps
760 / 240 if other = 3.166amps

cord not overload or heat up, cord (should) handle 10amps easily

another thought is - that plastic goes brittle if exposed to UV (sunlight, hydroponic rig, etc) or other BPA leeching substances like harsh chems (bleach etc)
also, use imgur - better, faster, no limits, no crappy wrapper pages. also has fb signup for ease of use

only thing I can think of. The cord appears to be in fairly standard household conditions. I'd assume it's been in direct sunlight for a long time.
