How sweet would it be to be able to buy prepaid bitcoin wallet cards at stores?

Have you ever seen the racks of gift cards on display at grocery and convenience stores?  I see them all the time.  I stopped to check out a display at a local store this afternoon and couldn't believe the selection available.  There were so many cards to choose from that I thought I would stumble across one for bitcoin...

I mean, how cool would that be to be able to walk into a bricks-and-mortar store and purchase a prepaid bitcoin wallet card?

And, then it hit me...

Prepaid bitcoin cards are the future!  No more verifying your identity and/or waiting days to receive your bitcoin!  Just walk into your local  store, and...

BAM!

Instant bitcoin!

I then race back home to search the Internet to see if such a prepaid bitcoin card exists... and, alas...  it does!

I found a website called:  http://www.buyprepaidbitcoin.com where they sell set denominations of bitcoin at current market prices.  This seems to me to be the easiest method of acquiring bitcoin I have ever seen or thought of.  After all, I think one of the biggest hurdles in the way of bitcoin becoming main-stream is the difficulty in acquiring it.  Wouldn't prepaid bitcoin cards be the easiest way to buy bitcoin?  Has anyone bought a wallet card from the website above?  I am going to buy one... I'll post my experience with my purchase later.  Thanks for reading!

Nice story (advertisement) for your first post. I see that they only accept PayPal for payment. Also, I presume that the pre-paid card gets converted into Bitcoins at their exchange rate? Seems like the site was created on April 1, 2014. Good luck to anyone trying this site out.

Well if the in store Scanner can be connected to a coinbase account remotely to send the Bitcoins and the card by itself is worthless could work
Of course the amount of Bitcoins you get would vary every day
Buy 20 dollars get 0.02 or 0.018 etc

Update:  Just got my prepaid bitcoin wallet card in the mail today.  The card is way cool looking and has the private key concealed underneath a tamper-evident hologram sticker.  Interestingly enough, it is now worth more than what I paid for it, but it wouldn't matter if it was less.  We all know bitcoin can be volatile and I'm not a speculator... I'm a spender!  I think in order for bitcoin to go mainstream is has to be simple and easy to acquire and spend it.  Prepaid cards are the way to go.  All in all, I'm impressed... a flawless transaction and a new loyal customer.  Highly recommended!

yeah I used www.prepaidbitco.in to get my prepaid bitcoin card. i got the card for a birthday present for my sister and she loved it.  the $50 card only had a $2.00 activation fee. its the cheapest ive seen so far and cheap is what i like

Yeah, I scoped that site out, too, but I didn't want to have to deal with any activation hassles.  Plus, who needs just $10.00 in bitcoin?  A $2.99 activation fee on $10.00 is 30%... I wanted to get bitcoin fast, not get ripped in the process.  And, it only lets you buy up to $100.00.  You may like cheap, but I like easy!

http://www.BuyPrepaidBitcoin.com is the only site to buy bitcoin, as far as I'm concerned.  Thanks for your input, though!

not to be mean but i just checked your site out. are you saying that your technology is better and should be trust more? If your site is really better then please show info about who is behind it and what technology you are using. It looks like your just loading wallet cards with bitcoins manually. there's nothing technologically savvy about that. just google prepaid bitcoin and see their stuff www.prepaidbitco.in is involved in the bitcoin ecosystem, sponsoring bitcoin events and attending exhibitions showcasing their technology. I havent seen your site anywhere except for this forum and other forum postings. please point me to where I can find your media writeups and I will switch to you, honest I buy bitcoin for every family member this christmas and for every birthday. if your cards are truly better than  please show examples and you have customer for life. if not, you're probably just a knockoff of the www.prepaidbitco.in site

I'm just a satisfied customer who thinks they have hit upon a fantastic idea.  I see that other folks who have responded to this post also think I am advertising my own site.  It's a good idea, but you got the wrong guy!  The site you refer to appears legit, too, and I'm sure there are enough bitcoiners to go around... I bet it isn't too long before a half dozen prepaid bitcoin sites pop up around the Internet.  I can't wait... I hope bitcoin fulfills every bit of its potential!  There is one thing about the site you mention that I can't get over, though.  While their domain name is creative, it has no SEO advantage over http://www.buyprepaidbitcoin.com, and will never be able to outrank it on any search engine (.com extensions and keywords are everything).  I would like to think that a company that existed solely on the Internet would have taken this into account when they established their business.  It makes me wonder what else they have not thought out with their business model.

There are two completely different schemes here. The "buyprepaidbitcoin" guy is selling actual Bitcoins at a big markup. You get a card with a Bitcoin private key you can uncover. One hopes you're the only party with that key, and it's valid, but you don't know until you try to spend it, or at least transfer it to another wallet.  Same problem as the Causicus coins.

The .in site is yet another "hosted wallet" site. Those haven't worked out well in the past. Too many "take the money and run" operators.

Both of these approaches fundamentally suck. If anything goes wrong, you're screwed.
