Do you not see this in the bar at the top of the window?

I think it's in a slightly different place in OS X, but that's just how OS X works.

Also, make sure your version is updated.

Windows = Toolbars are on the top of the window itself, so if you make the window small and move it to the lower right corner, your tool bar will be attached to that little window.

Mac = Toolbars are ALWAYS on the upper left hand side of the ENTIRE SCREEN. Regardless of the size of the window. You must also SELECT the window (by clicking on it once and having it open on the top of all other windows) in order for the tool bard to show up on the upper left hand corner of the screen. (This is next to the Apple button that you click to "Shut Down")

Also, Ubuntu Linux behaves the same way as the Mac in this regard. This threw me off for a while because I had been used to Windows. It appears that Windows is the oddball here, while Linux and the Mac behave similarly.
