Several of you suggested that we should try group-funding an art piece via witcoin, so I started a thread in fundraising.witcoin.com:

I want to make stickfigure art for the Bitcoin community

This was inspired from Gryph's idea earlier in this thread.

https://i.imgur.com/wEZ76l.jpg

The goals as of now:

1. 20 BTC for a vector version in Inkscape.
2. 100 BTC for a full Bitcoin coloured poster (or t-shirt or whatever) with nice typography and all (we'll need to decide on what it should say).

The piece will be released under a Creative Commons license so that the Bitcoin community can use it and benefit from it freely. The original vector file will be provided with all the layers intact so you can adjust it to your heart's desire.

Join the fundraising here: http://fundraising.witcoin.com/p/1102/I-want-to-make-stickfigure-art-for-the-Bitcoin-community

This will go on in parallel to this thread. I want to continue taking individual requests here and making art for you guys. Smiley

Sounds like a plan. Smiley Ping me when you're ready.

Already got an Intuos 6x8 (the original). The problem is that it's not worth pulling out and setting up for a couple of bitcoins. I'll do it for 10+ though. Smiley Either way, the results are best when I start with a paper-drawn draft.

I'm not allowed to send money without being a member, and I can't be bothered. It's much easier if you just give a unique receive address for these kinds of things.

Fair point, I'll pass on the feedback to mizerydearia. There ought to be a public bitcoin address per fundraising post that you can send anonymous bitcoins to (and automagically get converted to witcoins).

shazow. You are really great at this!
Thanks for the compliments! Smiley This is something I really enjoy doing (both doodling and seeing bitcoins fly into my wallet Tongue), so I would love to continue. Anything I could whip up for you?

- shazow

Now I have come up with an idea!

I'll pay you 2.13 BTC for a cyborg crypto-anarchist riding on an alpaca with a flag in his hand with a on it "A³"  Grin

Can you do it? If that's the case, should I pay you before or after you have drawn it?

Here you go (plus a bonus itty-bitty practice version in the corner):

Here's my take on Satoshi and friends:

In retrospect, I guess it doesn't really represent Ben Bernank, but the agents-from-the-matrix-as-bankers has a better vibe to it given the cypherpunk origins of bitcoin. I think I can do better if anyone wants to commission a digitally-inked or vector version of this one.
