Agreed.  Stop trying to change the logo dummies.

It doesn't look better, and only an idiot would go with a logo that includes an inverted cross, when they're trying to vie for mainstream adoption.

I read it was to do with it being a recognised symbol or in unicode or something of the like.

Well we have this: BTC already. So why change it

Because it's not Unicode and therefore can't easily by typed or something.

Both have pros and cons, I personally don't really care all that much

It's not a simple or fast process, I would think that it would be best undertaken by the foundation or another industry group:
