Just sort of messing around today with a bunch of different simple premises - technology/bitcoin as art, hiding private keys in plane sight, adding value to art through bitcoin, etc - and came up with this.  It's really just a proof of concept, but imagine this hanging in a gallery.  In this case, admirers could donate to the owner from their smartphone by simply taking a picture of the piece.  But, on top of that, the private key to the bitcoin address that the piece represents is in the piece itself and there are even some hints in the peice to locate the private key.

Anyway, maybe it's a stupid idea.

Bitcoin Fact: the price of bitcoin will not be greater than $70k for more than 25 consecutive days at any point in the rest of recorded human history.

I like it. And proudhon making bitcoin art instead of specutarding is the clearest buy signal I've ever seen.

It reminds me of a wall rug like they make in Nordic regions.

I'm pretty sure a QR code would work as a pattern for one. I'd love to see one of those on some grandmother's wall...

Or how about a wearable QR code made with granny squares? And yes, I can make them. I can even do nettle point and knit (edit: and weave). Now I found this: http://nvate.com/653/qr-code/ A QR Art Gallery.

I think they need one of these hanging there.
