We've run into a major issue with the checkpointing server.  And will have to reboot the launch for Sunday 27 April at 12AM EST.

I'm really sorry guys but we can't avoid it.

Yeah, we experienced severe issues.  We didn't expect old code to get bundled into the checkpointing server during compile. We are forced to reboot. Pulling all binaries for relaunch on Sunday night. All those who claimed their coins will get to keep their coins.  Miners, I'm sorry no such luck I'm afraid. We're going to have to redo this properly.

We are relaunching Sunday night 8PM EST for ozziecoin claims.  We will make wallets and repository available at around that time.

Due to the rush last time, the block reward will start at block 1152, which is approximately 6 hours after 8 PM Sydney time on Sunday night. We'll try to make the wallets available as early as possible.

The coin claiming will be available at 8 PM Sydney time on Sunday night.

That will give people plenty of time to download the repository, wallets and setup before the block reward starts.

We are learning and adapting.  We've also fixed issues with our server setup.

Have fun guys.  Hope you all had a good long weekend.

Just to confirm... all the coins/blocks/transactions etc that went through our pool are all invalid and will need wiping? Is that correct?

A $3.30 verification fee applies per claim.

SCAM
Before calling this a scam.  Did you buy a cup of coffee today?  What did that cost you?

We have invested a lot of time and money into this.  We believe $3.30 is not an unreasonable cost compared to the cost of setting up a mining rig to mine 500 ozziecoins.

Also, I think people shouldn't expect everything to be completely free.  There is a cost attached to maintaining our infrastructure.

If someone is not prepared to pay a $3.30 nominal fee to ensure fair allocation, we suggest they are more than welcome to set up a mining rig.

sorry but 500 ozziecoins will never be worth $3.30........yes scam, create a coin charge $3.30 per applicant is the very definition of a scam in the opensource community. not to mention illegal and in violation of several patents.

its very against the spirit of this opensource community and very un-Australian.

The charge is for verification, SMS and engineering time.  We are not selling the software or ozziecoins.  Anyway, it's much cheaper than setting up a mining rig. If you don't like it, we invite you to get mining.

If we don't distribute ozziecoins to everyone (and this costs time and money to implement properly) the miners will just get all the coins and cryptocurrency will go nowhere in Australia (or develop much slower).

Once we work out how many people will claim ozziecoins and we have a better grip on our costs, we will reduce the charge as much as possible.

This in the FAQ:

Q: Why was 50% of ozziecoins pre-allocated? Without pre-allocation, individuals with specialised technical skills (and money) acquire the majority of coins through transaction processing (aka mining), which results in a highly skewed distribution of the currency.  By pre-allocating 50% of all ozziecoins and dispersing ozziecoins widely throughout Australia, a more widespread distribution can be achieved whilst not overly compromising the ability of transaction processors to generate income.  We believe the strength of the community behind the digital currency determines its eventual success.

Advise you do some test mining with the pool, then mine some darkcoin and then switch over at block 1152.
