admin cross post why exactly $214.5/DRK?
I did a rough calculation that gets to $1bn with increasing coin circulation. But anything north of $200 is acceptable. What can we do to help make that happen? Preferably something else than recommending family and friends to invest in drk.  family and friends gets you to $3. lets leave it for tomorrow to carry on...... Because of time zones, I want to kick this off and bump later. It also gives people a chance to see where I'm coming from for the discussion so we don't have a random discussion later on my suggested strategy session for getting DRK to $214.5/DRK by Nov. Get your thinking caps on, keep your powder dry until 6pm Eastern Time, 11pm GMT Anyone want to join - suggest freenode #darkcoin? ... All good starting points worth discussing. Without buy-in from Evan, I'm afraid this exercise would be a waste of time. |

Isn't the anonymity of payment only a very small part of that? I'd think getting the actual product to the consumer "discretely" is overwhelmingly the hardest part. |

None, as Monero will be the #1 anonymous coin once people realize ring signatures in Darkcoin will never work 100%.

ring signatures will never work 100%.
This seems to be the case as the 8x size of ring signature blockchain compared to bitcoin is a bloat that is impossible to overcome. Monero will just never be able to scale up to any meaningful number of users. Happy to report that Darkcoin has figured a way to improve security even further but without the added bloat that ring signatures would cause: RC3 Progress ReportI've had some substantial progress on DarkSend and have figured out how to make our existing system as secure as ring signatures. Vastly improved security, no bloat (from the ring signatures) and without actually having to trust new cryptography (it hasn't been extensively tested like what DarkSend uses) . So I think it'll give us a HUGE advantage in the coming months. More to come soon, I'm going to start implementing this tomorrow. |

DACs are interesting I would be interested more if there was a successful one. The Bitcoin Association is does not seem to be important.
No association should be important on a true decentralized system. We'll see. Also, about DACs, i expect to see the true beta of those when NXT or SAFE are in full force at the end of this year. Crypto land is a fast world, but some things needs their time :-) |

but I don't think it will go 35+ not this year
a coin can have this if its actually used to buy goods and/or services

This. The proof that the big to do feature is the "adoption" is that the coins are still being moved by technological advances or code upgrades in the geek community. The crypto world will move forward when serious attempts are made to lock up chain stores, website portals, ecommerce giants. Of course some steps are being made, but still in the infant phase, imo. |

Darkcoin getting accepted into Bitifinex shows a lot actually. It shows that the 2nd biggest crypto exchange on Earth knows the potential Darkcoin has, after all I'm sure they've reviewed the matter thoroughly before adding Darkcoin. Add that to the press Darkcoin has gotten/will have, along with the constant string of updates by it's terrific dev, and you have a perfect combo.
