Pessimistically I'd say $2K
Based on trendline on log chart $8K

Let's hope for the latter. It wouldn't supprise me if we do an $8K ATH and then fall back to $2K.

ArticMine, I presume you were joking?

I just happen to remember that just 18 months ago a similar comment would have been made if someone said 1100 for BTC/USD. And someone saying 1 for BTC/USD 4 years ago would have sounded even more insane.

Concerned that blockchain bloat will lead to centralization? Storing less than 4 GB of data once required the budget of a superpower and a warehouse full of punched cards. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/87/IBM_card_storage.NARA.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punched_card

I'm just going to throw out $2500 as the peak for the next bull run. Something in me feels like the logarithmic rise isn't going to hold this time around unfortunately. But hey, $2500 will put the BTC market cap at over $30B. Not too shabby right? Especially considering how many people are in the crypto-currency realm.

Although, I wouldn't be surprised if in the next 2-3 years the cap breaks the $100B mark.

If we can get past this constant stream of bad news and the second market or winkelvoss fund shows up then I see no reason we can't go back to 1000 USD this year.

I'm going to "outbid" you by a bit.
The next big up move should peak at $3,400 or up to $4,998.
Based on the past, I could be highly correct and still sell way too early.

so many people watching bitcoin like hawks. this is not going to pass ATHs without causing an ugly mess to the upside. a sequence of 5 is too much for speculators to ignore.

Oh really!?

And which nations tech savvy money movers are going to panic buy Bitcoin this time around? You have any inside knowledge on a political situation in some tin pot nation that we need to know about?

Or this all going to be speculation and increased adoption?

...going to be speculation and increased adoption?
The world has a tremendous need for what BTC offers:
Low transaction fees, especially on huge amounts
Global usage
Micro-payments (currently alts offer the lowest transaction fees)
Limited supply/No central source of unlimited inflation

The previous all time highs:
~$32.50
~$257
~$1150 to ~$1225

Once BTC final gets moving, it doesn't like to stop.  Smiley

Fair enough. I personally don't think pushing a cap over $50B is too far-fetched. Although, I don't know if there are too many people that follow your sentiment (as a response you already gotten hints at). I'll be honest, I like the sound of it hitting higher than I said, but just based on the ATH upswings having gone ~13x, then ~7x, then ~4.5x, ~2.5x "feels" right.

Fortunately, I've done fairly well the last two run ups, and fortunately I hadn't sold way too early. Of course though, I've also sold at stupid times too. (I guess selling at $240 last April and $1050 in November offsets selling a bunch last August for $100. Ha! In my defense, I did it to make the person who I thought was the love of my life happy so yeah...)

It depends on how easy it is to buy and store bitcoins when the next bull run begins.

If the next bull run starts in May, then not too high.

If the next bull run starts just before the Winklevoss ETF goes live, and if thousands of bitcoin ATMs are deployed and operating across the world, and if we have improved wallet technology to secure our private keys, then I think we could see the biggest bull run in bitcoin's history.
