Yes changing ownership is easy and you can also change email on the account, escrow is fine but how would it work in this situation?

Well it would work, although it would be a tad bit more complex. First you release the account info to the escrow agent. The agent confirms login and then changes account info or at least the password and e-mail associated with the account. Then buyer pays seller. Escrow then releases changed password to buyer.

This of course can be avoided if you'd be willing to trust the buyer first.
