It looks like all of the Talesfromthescrypt pools are dead (I checked a bunch of them and none loaded.)  Anyone have any info? I was just about to withdraw some coins from one of their pools when it went down.  They've had problems all week.  The stratum for my coin is down as well.  If they closed shop it was really not cool to not let people withdraw any coins they had on them.  (I'm smart enough not to store my coins on pools but I do manual withdraws every few hours or so).

Hello,

I have no first hand knowledge of what's happening with them, but they were one of the pools for 'Dafuqcoin.'

As you may know, Dafuqcoin is the first-ever Trojan Launch in the altcoin arena. http://altcoinherald.com/dafuqcoin-pushes-altcoin-bar-even-lower-first-trojan-coin-launch/

Their malicious script was able to install a rootkit which allowed the attacker (presumably the coin dev) to ransack the server and loot the wallets.

This is what happened to Cryptokk.com. Since Talesfromthescrypt is listed in the Ann thread for DaFuqcoin, this theory is plausible. I wish them - and you - well. The altcoin community must respond rapidly to stopping this type of launch attack, or many more casualties will ensue.

I was mining AsiaCoin with TalesFromTheScrypt at first but the pool just went down without any update except for one of the staff stating that he is leaving TalesFromTheScrypt. I guess it is the demise of the entire pool operation.

So I'm guessing it's gone forever? It's good then that I only a had a really small amount of coins on there before it went down. So was the Dafaqcoin to blame?

Yep, gone and buried.  They say it was that Dafaqcoin scam that did them in.  The owner (Hank?) is working with dev of Juggalocoin (Papa Nutt) and Juggalocoin is reimbursing everyone for the coins they lost when the Tales went belly up. (Have to give username and they work off the log file Tales was able to retrieve).  I got back my missing Juggalocoins yesterday; other people on the Juggalo thread are posting they got reimbursed also.   Not sure if other coins have reached out that way.
