My node is off one week now and i dont have any support from them. I have told them to transfer my server to Germany but they say that is full. Somehow they have blocked bitcond activity. I see with top command that bitcoind is running but with vnstat i see that i dont have any incoming activity. Today it was only 192kb.It was so good to be real to have a full node without any problem with 19 dollars for a year when all the other vps servers ask 19 euro for a month with the same specs...
I will try to contact them once more time for a server transfer but i dont think i will have any luck with that Sad

that's weird.  they respond very quickly to me.

i'm almost done loading the blockchain after they transferred me from LA to Dallas.  i think the problems i've been having are hardware related.

I think it is hardware related too. For some reason there are just nodes that refuse to work with bitcoind at all. When I get a good node though, it works perfect. I have many up from months ago that have had no problems, but I have also had a few that I bought that just do not work at all. I have been avoiding the Orlando location due to many problems there.

Also, I would probably recommend looking elsewhere at this point. The 30gb hard drive space most likely will not last anymore for an entire year. It is a great deal, and I bought many nodes here that work great, but the blockchain is right around 20gb already. 1 year from now it will most likely be over 30gb

I just ask them to transfer my server to Dallas and i think that is working without any problem and finally my node is up again Smiley. I would also say about the great and fast response from WeLoveServers support team. I think my previous problems was from misunderstanding because of my bad english but generally the node in LA has problem running a bitcoin node. I dont know what happen but there is a problem there.

Do i have to upgrade bitcoind to the last version or it doesn't matter? And how i do that?

It uses the PPA, so simply typing this will update it to the latest:

Code:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
bitcoind stop
bitcoind start

30GB is cutting it close right now. Not sure how much longer these will last:

Code:
root@Morblias:~# df -h
Filesystem      Size  Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/simfs       30G   27G  3.5G  89% /

For some reason they changed the directory to /var/www/html instead of /var/www

I am doing this from memory right now so it might not be 100% correct, but you need to modify the path. Something like this:

Code:
sudo vim /etc/apache2/sites-available/000-default

Change DocumentRoot I think it is from /var/www/html to /var/www

Then restart apache

Code:
sudo service apache2 restart

I do this but nothing happens. I see the same apache page. When i give restart apache it say and that

AH00558: apache2: Could not reliably determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using 192.3.52.176. Set the 'ServerName' directive globally to suppress this message

edit: Sorry it works! I have to remove and

*/5 * * * * python /usr/local/bin/btc-update.py
*/5 * * * * /usr/bin/vnstat -u >/dev/null 2>&1

in the first lines of the file. I have change this before when i look a solution for apache page. thx Morblias!

[NEWS] Re: $19/yr Full Node @We Love Servers

Sorry for not linking this post earlier.  It's a followup about how to continue using your inexpensive WLS nodes with the increased size of the blockchain.  Works great!
