Merged mining is quite interesting, but how about the efficiency? If I have 1 M of scrypt-N hash power, and I put it into a merged pool like VTC/PLX pair, do I have 1 M of hash power in both coins?

The hashing is equal on both coins Smiley you would retain your 1 M of hash power on both coins.

There is what looks good anymore this coin?
Can be minning together only?

If I understand correctly, no, you can also exclusively mine PLX. Check out the OP (first post of this thread) for the non-merged pools, there you can mine for just PLX.

Is anyone else getting speed greatly under-reported at HashInvest?   I have 2x 290x and 1x 750ti pointed at it, for a total of about 1mh, and the page is reporting about 100kh (<1% rejects on my end and good WU).

http://188.226.224.163/?vtc=VqMf5TdEYi8AG5so6qwZarJ1DkecoJmCEo&mon=PJSabots1KyFy2NtzL3t6KTEQSGQRnHafi
Using Vertminer on BAMT 1.6 (for the two 290x)

Any suggestions?  Thanks much

Edit:  a half hour later and it's reporting about 68kh.    Sad

Is there a parallax p2pool network or not?

YES there is a great P2Pool for vert/plx.  Go back a few pages and find
http://plx.qemulab.com

What I mean is, is there a seperate p2pool network that I can have my execoin p2pool node connect to with merge mining (difficulty has increased to much to rapidly for me to effectively solo mine it (tradition merge mining method)?

I have no idea, I am mining with 1 of my rigs for monitoring and hashrate is ok.

What are your scan time, queue, and expiry settings?  I've had simular problems on p2pool nodes if I didn't use a queue setting of 0

I just created a "node in a box" with everything preconfigured to triple merge mine VTC+MON+PLX. https://github.com/Paul-Bradley/EasyNode

It's untested as yet, and at the time of posting this it'll be about 20 minutes or so until I've finished uploading the (quite big) zip files.

The HOWTO is on the main page of the git repo.

Would appreciate if a few of you could give it a try. The most likely thing to be broken is that the port forwarding might break when it's run on a new machine (I'm not sure if that is stored in the VM configuration or on the host) which would cause you to be unable to connect a miner or browse to the p2pool web interface on the node, so if necessary I'll ammend the HOWTO so you can add that back easily.

UPDATE now 17:40 UTC and _still_ uploading! (first upload failed and had to restart) - files will be available in the release link within the next half an hour hopefully.

Wow mining is horrendous with this coin right now, not really worth it. Mining with 1.8 Mh/s and getting 1 coin every hour.... at least I'm getting some decent EXE at the same time though. Merge mining is cool.

I believe queue is 1.  Wonder if that's it.  It's fluctuating between 5% and 10% of what the actual speed should be.

It also doesn't seem to be one of those situations where it reports low, but pays out normally - I've made less than a tenth of a VTC in about 8 hours Sad

The files are now finished uploading and the p2pool "node in a box" is available (complete with README) at https://github.com/Paul-Bradley/EasyNode

This is preconfigured to triple merge-mine VTC+MON+PLX and is the best way to mine, with the highest possible payouts and zero fees.

I am updating the https://github.com/Paul-Bradley/EasyNode repo to include an OVA (Open Virtualisation Format) version of the triple-merge-mining "p2pool node in a box" VM image, so it's easier to import into other virtualisation software. Uploading now and should be available in an hour or so.

I'm also merge mining EXE and PLX, it's really cool getting both coins for the same hashrate. There's some life left in those GPUs yet!
