Hello Gentlemen,

Just wondering which platform is more stable to mine with Gridseeds or Blades? Win 7, any Linux distro or even the Raspberry Pi.

On Win7, I find myself having to reset my Gridseeds from time to time because one of them is locking up and Bfgminer cannot recover from it.

Please let me know,

Thanks much.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Well I have tried windows 7 on multiple pc's  and with multiple pools with various psu's.

  My asrock z77 itx-e motherboard:

 http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z77E-ITX/index.us.asp

with an intel  i7 3770t cpu

http://ark.intel.com/products/65525/Intel-Core-i7-3770T-Processor-(8M-Cache-up-to-3_70-GHz)

a crucial msata for the hdd

samsung ram 2 4gb sticks.

and an antec psu

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371056

runs 30  five chip units under at  300 watts nonstop for days on end.  clocked to 850 freq.  I get about 10200khs or 340khs a unit.

A lot of stops are your pools getting hosed by ddos attacked.  I use wemineltc.com and cex.io to mine I only mine ltc for the sale of keeping things simple.

I never use anything but the custom cpuminer set at freq 850 for scrypt only.

 I use less power for 10,200 khs then 1 r 290x does for 800khs

biggest problem is wire management.   not stability…. but 4 other mobos  running windows 7 or windows 8   suck compared to the asrock.

Many of us are partial to CGMiner.  I have found that the seeds drop off when using cgminer on the rasberry pi.  They are solid on windows though.

+1 using Win8. I haven't had any issues with the sandor111's cpuminer.

And to further comment.

Still running  thirty  5 chip pieces  freq 850 hash near 350khs.  I am getting a reoccurring crash about every 50 to 100 hours windows shuts down and i\I have to start up again.  but I have to be fair this little asrock itx-e mobo has run 24/7/365 since august of 2012

It has run 1 gpu at mining ltc or btc up to this feb.
It also ran from 40 to 110 usd sticks from july 2013 to feb 2014
This crash and reboot issue existed before the gridseeds were added.

I am not sure if the psu gets a bit hot and bothered. Right now the psu is driving 10 of the 30 gridseeds. And the gpu was pulled from the build.

I still do not blame the gridseeds. or cpuminer since this happened on and off before they were setup.

I have 100% uptime on a small I3 ubuntu server with 85 seeds on it.... Then I have an Rpi (model A) running Raspbian with 10 seeds; Rpi randomly reboots on me about every 3-6 hours, sometimes more frequently.

Other than the reboots, seed performance is consistent between both workers. ~360kh/s a piece, W/U = ~9.8

Mostly I think all not Gridseeds are that stable.

So far, cgminer simply drops Gridseed. Bfgminer seems to last longer.

Going to try sandor's cpuminer.

BfgMiner 3.10.0 seems to be the most stable but I noticed that if I have Cgminer open working with my GPUs ans I start bfgminer after cgminer it will crash for the first time.

As long as I start bfgminer first and then cgminer it works fine. I think that under Windows 7 bfgminer 3.10.0 has an issue with enumeration of the USB ports.
