MechanicalBit

A website for connecting those looking to work, or looking for someone to work, doing simple tasks such as word processing, data entry, and other mechanical processes. Like Amazon’s Mechanical Turk, MechanicalBit will connect those who need things “processed” to those who can do the processing! The only change is that all the payments will be in bitcoin! This website will be a great way for 1, getting companies to learn about bitcoins and start to accept them, and 2, payments to be sent instantly and efficiently to those looking to do work.

I am here today looking for investors for the following reasons:

-To help pay for web development (.75 BTC)
-To help pay for the cost of the domain (.25 BTC)
-To help pay for advertising (.5 BTC)

I am looking for a total of 1.5 BTC to help pay for my startup. The way that the investors will be paid will be up to them. For now I give them two options:

-A permanent share of profit from the website that correlates with the amount that they decide to invest
Or
-A 150% Return-On-Investment payout as soon as money is starting to be generated from the website

This will be my first (of hopefully many) bitcoin startup businesses and I look forward to hopefully having some investors! Smiley

If you are interested and would like more details, PM me!

I have a suggestion:
The pay rates on Amazon’s Mechanical Turk are brutally low.
You don't want to drive away employers (so there will still probably be some low paid jobs)

My suggestion is you have useful certifications for basic/advanced skills, then those people are qualified to accept the jobs in higher paying categories.

My suggestion:
Mechanical Turk  doesn't allow workers from all countries. You can change that with your website.

I love the idea, but i'm concerned that 0.75btc for the development seems rather low.
Is the plan for you to do the work for that amount, or to pay someone else to do it?

0.75 BTC is around $300 at the moment, or roughly £178. If the plan is to hire someone, I would think that for £178 you would get a page layout with a few pages, mechnical turk will have taken a whole team a fair amount of time to make ( at a guess ).

I do think the idea is great though, but I think (and it's just my instinct) that you may need more funding.

This is just the first round of funding... I want to make sure that before I start asking for a larger investment, that I will have an audience and a small rate of success

I also am planning on developing the website at first, but then later on making a more friendly and interactive website.

I would only be interested in investing if you already had something to show.

I'm sure you could already make something without having to pay for hosting etc.

If I'm not mistaken, Travis Skweres of Werkadoo could help develop this for you.

http://www.crunchbase.com/organization/werkadoo

Quote
Werkadoo is an online portal that matches projects from businesses with the right candidates or teams based on soft characteristics and behavioral traits as well as hard skills and expertise. Some call Werkadoo "The eHarmony Of Business".

Because this economic recovery is set to be a jobless one, and contract work on a project by project basis will become the norm, Werkadoo has set out to bring the two sides of the equation (Businesses and Workers) together more efficiently and effectively than the current status quo. The three ways Werkadoo differentiates itself from the job boards and virtual working spaces are:

1. Match-Making: Werkadoo's unique, new match-making engine will pair up your project needs as a business or project manager with exactly the right candidate or team based on a combination of soft personality traits and qualified expertise. For businesses this means no more headaches and sifting through thousands of resumes. Post a job with Werkadoo, and your top matches will be brought to you instantly, saving time and money. For professionals, this means you can focus on doing what you do best, and not business development because the matching engine will be bringing you the projects that best fit your working style.

2. Team Formation: Werkadoo gives you the ability to form teams before starting work on projects; so all of the individual superstars out there can band together to form dream teams and compete on a higher level with the big agencies.

3. Werkspace Customization: Werkadoo knows that every project is different, and requires different tools. They also know that every person is different, and has their own tools and preferences. For that reason, Werkadoo will be allowing you to plug in all of those great collaboration and communication tools you already use, right into your fully customizable Werkspace.
