Hello,

I am new here, well, I have followed the forums but haven't really posted much until now. If there is a better place for this post, please feel free to move it, although I felt this section was most appropriate. I have created an Android app which is available on the Google play market which may be of interest to some members here.

TrollBox

Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nutterzuk.trollbox

The app is to follow the trollbox antics, latest news and prices all in one place on the go.

It provides the following functionality:

- Follow the BTC-E trollbox chat on your mobile.
- Add any number of tickers from BTC-e to the interface to follow prices. Prices will auto refresh, you can set the interval in the settings.
- Calculator and charts for each ticker - I do intend to keep making improvements to these, soon I will add an order book too.
- Latest news.

I will soon be adding some more news sources and may consider adding new exchanges. To my knowledge, there are no other apps which allow you to easily connect to the trollbox chat and have all of this in one place.

I am an active developer, and if you have any feature requests, bug reports or suggestions please let me know and I will update it as soon as I can. The app is 79p, I don't receive all of that (google take some) and it is just to pay for my time, it's less than the price of a bus fair and hopefully it's something you will use a lot, so hopefully that doesn't put anyone off.

That seems really useful. I'd download it if I had an Android phone, but unfortunately I don't - still, some very nice work that you've done with the app!

Dissertation was about threat modelling on distributed ledgers.

Thanks Smiley. I hope that people will find it useful. I may make an iOS version of it someday, but it depends how this one goes as it does take a lot of time to make.

To anyone else - if you happen to think of anything which you think should be added to the app, let me know and i'll try my best for you.

Thanks Smiley. I've had a few people say the same (iPhone users)

So far I'm pretty happy with the feedback from people that have used it but I'm seeing only very few downloads. I put that down to it only interesting a very select group, only being on android and costing 79p. Its a shame because those who have used it so far, including myself think its pretty handy and enjoy checking in on btce.

I think I have a few options but I'm open to advise from anyone interested. I'm considering making a free with ads version. Would you be more likely to try it out if it was free with ads? My second idea is to run a kind of advertising feature request idea, where if enough people want a particular feature I'll add it in and hopefully will attract some people to it.

Id be interested in any ideas, what would you like to see in there? More exchanges? Order book chart (depth)? More news sources? How many of you would download it if it was iOS?

I wonder if this is the correct forum category for this thread since it seems all the other posts are people trying to find developers. This isn't strictly in development, so is this the right place?

Thanks,
Steve

Hi,

To anyone interested, here are some updates which I've just made and published:

- Made it so if you scroll up in the chat, when a message comes in it doesn't jump to the bottom (but if you are at the bottom it will auto scroll).
- Changed tickers to 4 significant figures.
- Changed look of tickers - they look much nicer now, screenshots should be updated on Google Play
- Added green/red highlight for up/down prices.
- Added back button to settings to make it easier to go back (in the title bar)

- Added instructions alert on first time opening the app.
- Sorted tickers in settings alphabetically.
- Sorted tickers on display alphabetically.

Thanks,
Steve

Thanks, appreciate that. I just sent out an update so you can set alarms (if a coin goes above or below a value it will make a notification). Its in the settings menu at the moment.

Next I'll be adding a feature so you can add favourite people in the chat, then it will highlight chat from them in a different colour.

Still haven't had anyone (other than my own dad) suggest any new features, but really fire away and I'll do my best to add it so long as its sensible.

Thanks,
Steve
