food, food, food. Until you can exchange BTC for food, BTC will be forever dependent on currency exchange. If you want BTC to replace your country's currency, start farming.

Just noticed there were 11 votes for Gold/Commodities -- I have silver on offer if anyone is interested.  Gold is a possibility as well.

I'd like to be able to buy my luxury yacht and private jet for bitcoins someday  Grin

I wish I could buy XXX with bitcoin...

Oh, wait...

"The powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent meetings and conferences. The apex of the systems was to be the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world's central banks which were themselves private corporations. Each central bank...sought to dominate its government by its ability to control Treasury loans, to manipulate foreign exchanges, to influence the level of economic activity in the country, and to influence cooperative politicians by subsequent economic rewards in the business world."

In the near term, I'd be more than happy with just being able to pay my electric bill without a postage stamp or a $3 "conveince fee"

What about a physical mailbox?

Imagine having an anonymous address that you can ship anonymous goods to using anonymous currency.

this is a local arrangement, but I have seen it done.

What about a physical mailbox?
Some decades ago I knew a guy who operated a pirate radio station. He attached a mailbox to the wall of a derelict house, and it worked perfectly for many years as an anonymous mailing address.

Just added "clothes" to the poll.  (Doh!)

I'm tempted to reset the poll since I added new categories - so that people can recast their vote.

Should I?
