Yes, but all those coins was traded with/for BTC. But, volume was pretty low. If this was a scam it was much to early to close it out. Wait it out, grow the exchange to 500 BTC a day or so.

I'm still puzzled by this

Zip could have made more money opening up another fee share buy than he did by running
He probably would have made more off next coin over the coming weeks.
He'll he could have made more selling the 20 million sharecoin he had control of.

Oh well guess we will find out in the coming week.
I have my theories, but it's all a little tinfoil hatish

If your not actively using the technology behind your crypto investment,

IT IS A SCAM!!!!

He told me (posted in the exchange thread I think) there was a BTT member that was joining his team to help with support, monitoring and communication after his first outtage. So, someone here knows something.

That was me directly translating a commonly used metaphor in my native language into English. Where I said 'Zip stopped answering his phone' I meant to say 'Zip went AWOL'. Sorry for any FUD caused by this little translation error. Now don't go around telling people I served in the same army regiment as Zip please Smiley

I have my theories, but it's all a little tinfoil hatish
From the beginning I do not think he planned to scam us.

1) A theory I've read on the Qora thread is that when he started to gain power and see the size of the exchange wallet, he lost control of himself and take a wrong choice for his life. Sure, we can all speculate how much more money he would have made with a successful business. But imagine someone who grew up in a poor family, someone who is poor himself, maybe he has some personal problems (i.e. drugs). 100 BTC might be enough to make him lose his mind.

2) In that same Qora thread, someone noticed that not only he transfered an huge amount of QORA to Poloniex, but he also transfered 2 amounts of coins from Poloniex to ShareXcoin. An hacked would sent QORA to Poloniex to dump them. Fine. But why he first would send coin to ShareXcoin?? So the theory here is that Zip tried to make money with OUR coins (forgive my poor English but I think it's called leverage trading). However, the plan failed. He actually lost an huge amount of money. Money that he knew he could never refund. So he might took the easy but immoral decision to steal everything rather than admit his crime.

Also, when I think about it, maybe Zip wasn't working as hard as he was pretending.

Casino (gambling website)? Delayed because he was working on another project. Is it true? There are so many casino scripts available, we can guess that it should not take lot of time to open it. So to explain why there is no casino yet, he found another "project".

Coin launch platform? Did we see some real work done? Was he really working on that?

He said he was not alone, but a team. How many people? Why the team members never posted here? Why we don't know them? He Zip cannot give news (for whatever reason) why his team do not give sign of life? So I begin to think that Zip was alone.

Lately he talked about introducing fiat. Is it true or was it a way to make us trust the exchange and make us keep more money in the exchange? In the way he was talking about this, it was an easy thing to do. It is not. There are lot of international laws to respect when you deal with real money. You need to buy expensive license. Look at Cryptsy and how long before they was able to offer fiat trading.

You know, I compare this to the moment when someone close to you commit suicide. At first you are shocked, you never saw this coming. However, when you thing about it, you realise that your friend left several signs. You simply do not see them or denied them.

@Vitalogy

despite what you think about your english: excellent summary!

So to me its either 1 or 2. I don't see the hack here :/

I had a rather large deposit stuck in Poloniex. Took them 24 hours to respond to the ticket and another 24 to fix it.

I had a smallish deposit stuck in Sharexcoin: ticket answered and resolved withing 30 minutes.

And yet Poloniex saves the day.

More than that, I also lost my passion for cryptocoins.

I started to get interested in bitcoins and all in december 2013. I started to mine in february 2014. Fortunatly, from the begining my golden rule was to never invest/spend money that I cannot afford to lose. I lost maybe a value of 100$ but it's OK. Anyway I've made close to 1000$ with mining and investing. So it's not a real lost.

But right now, today, I have no fun to read and learn about cryptocoins. Hopefuly in few days I will forget that and have fun again...

The problem is that the same environment that allows us to be anonymous, free and anarchistic is the same environment in which scammers thrive and reproduce.

There are some people on these boards whom I trust more than my physician. Yet there are people on these boards that are out to skin me alive. Since they are all hiding behind nicknames its hard to differentiate. Don't give up just yet. There is a future for this shit Smiley

Besides the altcoins.... anyone knows how much actual BTC was on the exchange?
