Does anyone think the good wife episode will drive up our market prices? I think we should see prices like before ($13,$20,$15). Does anyone have any predictions?

are you kidding me? those are completely unrealistic expectations. as above, we have to break the resistance at $7.20 first. i ought to chart an oscillator with overbought/oversold bounds such that when the bulls on the forum start frothing at the mouth it's a sure sign of an impending correction/reversal, and vice versa.

this sentence has fifteen words, seventy-four letters, four commas, one hyphen, and a period.

If it happens, it is not going to happen right away.  Certainly not during the show.   It takes a bit of time for people to make a bitcoin buy.  Even with bitinstant, it takes time to go to the bank etc.

That is correct. If there are new users it will take them a day or two to look it up then up to a week to decide whether or not to invest and then another couple days for the transfer of money into MTGox. There will be no direct rise from the show but for the next couple weeks after is anyone's guess.

I would like to correct myself. There could be some instant reaction and that would be evident in the global hash rate. It is easy enough for someone to download GUIMiner and join a pool so this could happen during or shortly after the show. They might not have an ideal graphics card or may only try cpu mining but some people will probably try it out cuz of the show if there is enough detail on it.

My guess is that the episode will influence more the speculators than the show's audience. But as someone said earlier, we can use the mindshare, even if it does not result in new money coming in.

Bitcoin: the only currency you can store directly into your brain.

What this planet needs is a good 0.0005 BTC US nickel.

We're beginning to rally.  I suspect we'll be going over 7.2 soon, but it's rather unpredictable.

One thing is clear.  Just before it breaks 7.2, go long 10:1.

Or if you've got the balls do it now.

Bitcoin Fact: the price of bitcoin will not be greater than $70k for more than 25 consecutive days at any point in the rest of recorded human history.

Gonna be tough to do unless there's a few bears left... Bitcoinica is already fully leveraged.

I think price will decrease in the short term. Similar idea to buy on the hype, sell on the news.

it would be cool if we saw a price drop tomorrow... the good wife viewers would hear about bitcoin, look in to it and see a good buy-in opportunity.

That is correct. If there are new users it will take them a day or two to look it up then up to a week to decide whether or not to invest and then another couple days for the transfer of money into MTGox. There will be no direct rise from the show but for the next couple weeks after is anyone's guess.
It took me half a year from hearing a recommendation about bitcoin to bying a bunch.  Granted it was much harder back then.

It took me 3 days from hearing about Bitcoin to start mining!

How is that relevant?

It is relevant because people who watch the show might start mining shortly thereafter
