It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Uh, do you mean the bitcointalk admin or the bitcoin dev's here?

the admin...

there is a scam in progress...and the only people that can trace the ip are the admin of bitcointalk

PM theymos (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=35) if you need an admin, but be forewarned that we don't usually release IP information for scamming etc unless there's grounds to do so. Also, it is likely that the user used a VPN anyway.

but i understand that bitcointalk wont get involve...to stay neutral

to bad those people get away with it...i just lost 1.4btc

he will be back for more till we get him.... Sad

As John already stated, getting the IP is very unlikely. Scams aren't moderated to avoid abuse thus providing an IP without a court order would be both against forum policy and would violate privacy. Nothing stops you from trying, maybe your case is special in some way.
