UPDATE 5/24/14
Windows QT client and source updated, fixes the "old checkpoint" warning. Added EWB for windows users looking to build their own. You may have to redownload the blockchain in order to get rid of the warning. Mac wallets will be updated once w8 is ready to compile it. UPDATE 5/13/14
Wallets and source updated, fixes the "old checkpoint" warning. "For the miner, for the investor" Launch Date | May 03 2014 1:59 AM EST | Total Coins | 100 000 000 CPTL | Premine | 0 Blocks | Block Reward | 0 - 1 000 CPTL (see below) | Block Time | 30 Seconds | Transaction Time | 120 Seconds | Difficulty Retarget | Every Block | Algorithm | Scrypt PoW/PoS | Annual Interest | 10% | Minimum Stake Age | 12 Hours | Maximum Stage Age | 2 000 Days | Website | | Twitter | | IRC (Freenode) | #CapitalCoin |
CapitalCoin unlike Bitcoin, uses a variable block reward (with a maximum of 1000 CPTL per block). The algorithm utilizes Moore's law which accurately predicts the growth of computational power. The creation of new coins (block reward) decreases on a scale related to the computational effort used, with a halving every 16x the network difficulty. The more miners, the lower the block reward. If there are less miners the block reward will increase. Overall this will combine with other factors to give an inflation rate of approximately 1% which will allow for greater long term sustainability. CAPITAL VALUE CapitalCoin is a refreshing solution to the cryptocurrency question. CapitalCoin utilizes a unique hybrid Proof of Work/Proof of Stake design that will provide the optimum means of coin distribution and long-term support. In addition to being able to mine CapitalCoin blocks, you can accrue 10% interest annually on your held coins by leaving your wallet client open and unlocked for a minimum of 12 hours. CAPITAL SPEED CapitalCoin utilizes a hybrid Scrypt Proof of Work/Proof of Stake coin distribution and transaction verification algorithm. This allows both dedicated PoW miners as well as CapitalCoin peers to verify transactions on the blockchain, ensuring that transactions are processed in a quick and efficient manner. CAPITAL EQUALITY The CapitalCoin development team is confident in the successful future of the coin and will release CapitalCoin with zero blocks mined before launch. With a fair and equally distributed release, everyone has the opportunity to become involved with the coin from an early stage. The future of CapitalCoin lies in your hands, not ours. addnode=184.58.196.199 addnode=91.121.175.217 addnode=67.231.63.22

Scrypt POS, what's this? How can I mine it?
You mine it during the initial Proof of Work distribution period, just like any coin, except you can only mint new coins with proof of stake mining after the last PoW block. We should wait until the dev updates the OP with relevant info, which should be soon if they're launching the 1st.

You mean like all the new coins which are created at the moment ? yep all unique. All share the same unicity... (please write something which sounds at least half believable...)

It was a pretty short notice releace ! I think its good that they make sure everything works first , you know ? Yeah, I don't think delaying a launch is really bad for a coin if the dev actually communicates with the community. I'm glad they took the 24 hours to make sure everything is correct. See you all tonight at midnight EST.

The flipside to the argument that this coin brings nothing new to the table is that it also shows no obvious red flags. There's no IPO, there's no pre-mine, the coin is being presented in a somewhat professional manner. The developers only have so much power over their creation. The community that springs up around this coin will be responsible for it being a success or a failure.
Altcoins are like hamburgers. Some of them look plain, but taste delicious. Some of them look delicious but have unpalatable ingredients lurking inside.

Yes, i have the same question. When does POW ends and POS starts? How does this coin different from other POW/POS coins? What is your future development plan with this coin? Your reply will be appreciated.

Great launch OP, everything went smoothly! I can't connect to irc.freenode.net I said, but my antivirus software is really alarming. The dev worked hard on this coin and for you to come in and say it has a virus (probably to spoil the launch) and then "not be able to connect to freenode" is a little distasteful. It's well known that some A/V display false positives for cryptocurrency wallets.

You can accrue 10% interest on your held coins by leaving your wallet client open and unlocked for a minimum of 12 hours.
Hi dev, do you mean %10 per year? you need to put more info out as some of the stuff needs clarifying.

This doesn't look like a 0-1000 CPTL random reward.
Ah, it seems that I misread the CryptoCash description, CASH , unlike Bitcoin ,uses a variable block reward.
I'll work on updating the OP and site. I apologize for the miscommunication on my end, things have been a little hectic. DEV puts the coin in BITTREX

We feel the developer has handled the situation in a forthcoming and admirable manner, and we have decided to reopen this pool. Thanks for mining with us! stratum+tcp://stratum.poolest.com:3336

Not that I've heard of, I'll post the information as soon as it's available. I will be willing to donate some towards bounties, developments, promotion etc
Glad to hear! You can find the donation address in my signature. I'm accepting CapitalCoin only as a sign of my faith in the currency. As for development, I know the hashrate reported by the "getmininginfo" rpc call reports the local hashrate and not the network hashrate, so I'll work on getting that fixed with cryptowest as I believe he said he wanted to help. I would like to have the source code on github, could you please put it there?
Why do I want this? Easy to update when there's a new release. I don't have to download all source every time there's an update.
I'll work on getting the source code uploaded to an official GitHub repository tonight, I've been busy today.

We're still waiting on the word from Bittrex and Poloniex. I'll update the thread and website when new information becomes available. I also removed the announcement from the OP, as it only affected a small amount of users due to it being addressed quickly (who have seen the announcement by now) If you downloaded the Windows QT client prior to 3:30 AM 5/2 EST (eastern standard time NA), please PM me.

Yeah, there was some confusion that I clarified in the OP. It actually scales to the hashing power of the network, with a maximum of 1000 CPTL per block. More PR + marketing needed for this coin, maybe bounties for the logo and such?
I'm looking into that, I'll update the OP with any information relevant to bounties/giveaways/marketing as soon as possible.

I heard the wallet has some virus? do we have a new wallet? The infected windows QT wallet was distributed by an ex co-developer that I put in charge of posting the OP and uploading the binaries. The dirty executables were only online for about an hour, so if you just joined us you are fine.

I heard the wallet has some virus? do we have a new wallet? The infected windows QT wallet was distributed by an ex co-developer that I put in charge of posting the OP and uploading the binaries. The dirty executables were only online for about an hour, so if you just joined us you are fine. Perfect, thanks.

DEV any news on trade?
Let me mine some more and ill send some your way

Blockexplorer, kick ass logo, games etc.
Need to create more excitement about this coin.

I agree we need an exchange somewhere but I think we need to be somewhat cautious so we don't sink the coin with to many exchanges at once. One of the initial reasons I started mining this coin was the fact that it didn't promise "multiple exchanges on launch" which always seems indicative of a potential for a pump and dump. It would be nice to have the coin grow more "organically" with baby steps. So, may we should concentrate on getting excepted to one exchange for the time being? Maybe we can vote on an exchange to concentrate on for now.

I noticed that same miner didn't have as much hash before, he probably rented it. Good to see people are confident in the future of CapitalCoin, at least!

Dev lets get some bounties started. Also start a giveaway public address and let Polo know you want to do a give away.
I like how this coin reward goes LOWER when you have more hash against it. I thought it was the other way round.

So far Dev is doing a good job, plus CryptoWest has offered to help. So we should be good.
Good coin, decent block time. Coin should go far with the right amount of promotion.

I can not withdraw my coins pool this happens I'm under the impression that they were DDoS'd, which brought the pool site down. However, Crypto Coinz is a trust worthy pool (you will be able to withdraw your mined funds once the website is back up) and I advise you switch your hashes to the Poolest pool or Eliteminer pool in the meantime.

Bounties for services and a redesigned logo will be placed once it's determined. It's a priority but I'm waiting for the price to settle on Bittrex before I place it (don't want to put too little/too much)

Everyone send email poloniex@gmail.com to add CPTL, along with why it's a good coin. Few pointers. Honest coin, no Premine, Fair Launch. Has an active Dev and a growing community. Dump proof due to the lowering of reward based on hash thrown at it. Also be sure to link this thread.

I can clarify and verify this, there was actually a miner who had 1.5 gh/s on the Poolest for approximately 3 hours, and 4-5 hours of the 300 mh/s miner, as displayed below:

The hash has been steady and the bittrex market is seeing more activity! At the last price it was sold for on bittrex, I think mining this coin is a really good idea right now.

Hello everyone, sorry for the delays, I've been quite busy with some real life events, but now I'm back for sure I've gone ahead and added a 10k CPTL bounty for a new logo, what else would the CapitalCoin community like to see?

It cant go like this I'm watching the source code on https://github.com/CapitalCoinDev/CapitalCoin and it appears that the dev has updated the checkpoints in kernel.cpp and checkpoints.cpp We should be expecting an update soon to address the issue hopefully.

Updated binaries will be posted shortly, this update fixes the "old checkpoint" warning that some users were getting. Next on the list is getting the "unlock wallet" functionality into the daemon and QT client, PoS is working for UNENCRYPTED wallets.
The OP will be updated in just a moment.

coin has Moore's like law built into reward system which I find fascinating, wallet/pool everything is working just fine.
Moore's like law and POS combination with 10% is very attractive. Keeping algorithm scrypt is inline with Litecoin dev team thinking which stipulates that no matter what hardware advances are or will be in the future can catch coin off guard, but not if you have Moore's like law wired in the reward system!
have a great day

All your coins have increased in value.
They must have, because I have over 700K in a wallet that will no longer open.
With problems like this, and a relatively inactive dev, what chance does this coin have?
Could easily get this onto a decent exchange if the dev stepped up, but at the moment, its not looking good.

wallet opens just fine, I stand by my assessment that using Moore's law block reward was ingenious POW continues uninterrupted, dev very likely is working on something, we can not expect "conservative" "financial" oriented coins to have community compared to viral/meme coins

well I left my wallet open for like 3 days and still no PoS mining I got a few hunderd coins... am I doing something wrong? PoS is chance based, so the more coins you have, the more likely you are to stake. I have 160k CPTL and I stake daily with around 15 CPTL a day in earnings.

We had a block explorer online at http://178.32.221.167/chain/CapitalCoin but it's currently down for maintenance. Check back in a few days and the dev should add it back.

Update now online.
For those with encrypted wallets, you can unlock your wallet for staking with the "walletpassphrase" command. For users with unencrypted wallets, PoS should be working normally as it has been.

For those with encrypted wallets, you can unlock your wallet for staking with the "walletpassphrase" command. For users with unencrypted wallets, PoS should be working normally as it has been.
Just got the update and it's running smoothly Thanks dev!

I just like Moore's law.. very much in fact, dev was/is on something good here, hardware will advance and try to combat X11 for example , bake FPGA so they can reprogram to X13.. but it is a hassle .. never ending race, so yes something important was written to the base of this coin... mark my words

Is not that there is a hidden network, is that there are other people mining other than the one at the Poolest. But they are not hidden, the reason why you are not able to see the full network hashrate is because the wallet does not have the function so that when you run getmininginfo { "blocks" : 66099, <-- not the actual block # for the Diff that will be display below. "currentblocksize" : 1000, "currentblocktx" : 0, "difficulty" : 0.45, <--- The Diff from your question. "errors" : "", "generate" : false, "genproclimit" : -1, "hashespersec" : 0, "pooledtx" : 0, "testnet" : false }
the is missing. When you look at what Poolest display as the Network hash rate is only it's own hashrate. The fromula that the coin is missing is similar to this one. difficulty = 0.45 <--Example of Diff timePerBlck = 30 TwX48 = (2^ 48) networkhashrate = difficulty * ((TwX48 / 65535) / timePerBlck) networkhashrateKhs = (networkhashrate/1000) networkhashrateKhs = 64,425 Kh/s which is about 64 Mh/s
for a simple estimate you can do the following for a 30 sec Blocktime. (difficulty * 100) + 42% = Mh/s (.45 X 100) + 42% = 63.9 Mh/s

At Poolest.com the block confirmations are not decrementing All of the blocks have validity of 115 left or greater. No rhyme or reason to it. Is this a mining pool problem or is this a problem with the coin?

Would the person that has that 500 (CPTL) for 500 (BTC) sell order, please remove it.
I know that we are all hopefull and hope that CPTL gets to 1BTC but for now it just makes that new Circle Graph at bittrex look like people are trying to dump 500BTC of CapitalCoin and that may make people scare to invest in the coin.

no Premine is good - everything else is crap. NO POINT to this coin....... The Block halving every 16x the network difficulty. Is something that many other coins if not all are missing. This is a great feature as that prevents multipool and people with a lot of hash from being able to exploit the coin.

This is the responce I got from BittRex Hi,
To get relisted on the exchange, we'd like to hear from the development team what their plan is to generate interest in the coin. This isn't strictly related to volume. We keep about 30 coins on our exchange of we think could have long term promise and we want to support.
Twitter and campaigns also help.
Currently the Tip Address for the Block explorer has 10,000 CPTL, I'm Willing to give that out as bounty. Please post what you think will be the best way to do this. Also any one else that would like to donate to the Block Explorer Tip address, please do so and we can give then out as bounties. Last but not least Thank You for your great donation to the explorer Tip address.

Is there an accounted for (current Balance: 90000 CPTL), thanks. I sent emails to ecoinfund.com allcoin.com But no Response as of yet I will be sending to MintPal and Crypsy I recommend other do the same. For BitTrex They are just asking for an active community and promotional campaigns for them to be able to relist the coin. So we need people that have blogs to try and spread the word, post the links to the article in the thread and we can give bounties base on the funds available on the explorer tip address.

Dev needs to be active or hand the coin over someone who can take care of it. Trying to salvage this coin by yourselves complete waste of time, i am afraid. It is shame that this is a good, steady, promising coin.

How does one get a dev to hand over a coin?
I think one problem is that there isn't enough CPTL out there. I'll offer 1000 CPTL for the next 100 people who post a CPTL address.
Maybe getting some out there is what's needed?

First 10 get 10000 CPTL,
Next 11 - 100 get 1000 CPTL.
Then we talk to the devs and see if we can free the coin!

Issues with the wallet are causing me to spend an inordinate amount of time fixing the pool, while only a couple people are mining. I rarely shut down a pool while there are still miners, but I need to make an exception in this case. I will be disabling the stratum immediately, and will be shutting down the web interface in one week. Normally I give my users 2 weeks to withdraw their coins, but the walletd constantly using 100% CPU on one of my cores is slowing down the server, so a week is as long as I can go. Please initiate an auto or manual payout ASAP. Any coins not withdrawn after 6-25-2014 will be lost. Thanks everyone who mined on http://cptl.poolest.com. Hope to see you on the next coin.

For what it's worth, CPTL is now 55th in the voting.
Lets Keep it up, once we start getting to the top spots, more people will start to look into the coin and once we can get on the exchange we can then have sites like "whattomine.com" and "coinwarz.com" add capital coin to their Profitability list. Since we would have and explorer and an exchange, that will give more promotion to the coin. https://comkort.com/vote/#CPTL

Yes, Bittrex delisted it. Yes it was delisted for lack of community activity, that's what we are trying to build. We have over 80,000 CPTL to give out as bounty for support of this effort, as it pertain to the promotion of the Coin which could be awarded for the creation of articles and other promotional activities. Anyone who would like to donate for the support of this effort, please donate to the Explorer CPTL Tip address. All the Coins collected on that address will be given out as bounties, as long as people do the bounties.

I've seen this "Explorer Tip" address mentioned several times. I can't seem to find what that address is. Can you point me to it? I've got some coins that I'd be willing to donate.

I got us some paid votes that placed us into 4th place at Comkort, so hopefully we should be listed there soon.

Tried to add the coin to AllCrypt.com but even with the nodes in the OP, we have 0 connections.
If the coin has working nodes, open a support ticket on AllCrypt.com and let us know.

Looks like a successful voting spree on Comkort. Should be added this sunday, if all goes well.
Any other exchanges picking this up?

INFO I have update Source that will take care of the checkpoint Warining, also added network hash rate info. Having a little issue with compiling the windows wallet once that is done. I think that we should place a note on this thread and I will try to open a new thread with the updated source and wallets this way we can update the OPs page as needed. INFO

anyone having issues with the wallet? It's running, but OMG is it ever slow. Trying to solo mine is impossible, constant connection issues and pool not providing work fast enough. Can barely even open the wallet and choose anything in the interface.

Is the Minting that is slowing it down specially if you have been solo mining as you will have a large number of transactions for your address(accounts) Follow these steps to consolidate your transactions. Waring-- When you do this the Coins that you resent to your self will loose their coin age this mean that you may need to wait for about 9 days before the coins that you moved start minting again. Now when they mint you will get a larger PoS reward as the transaction would be one with a greater value. Also you have to pay a transation fee is very very low but just so you know. 1) Click on Settings>Options 2) Click on the Display Tab 3) Check both "Display address in Translation List" and "Display coin Control features (Experts only!) 4) Click OK to close the Options screen. 5) Now Click on "Send Coins" you will see that you have a new Button (Inputs....) 6) Click on "Inputs..." 7) Verify that Non of the boxes are checked. If they are simply use the button "(un)select all" 8 ) Verify that the radio button "Tree mode" is selected. 9) Now click on the amount heading so sort by amount. 10) On the first column you will see how may transactions each address has 11) Find the address that has the most translations and "Right Click" it and select "Copy address" 12) Now check the box to the for that address. (if you like you can expand and select them individually especially if you have a very large number of translations start with the Ones that have the smallest amounts.) NOTE: I think the limit of input transaction you can send at a time is 500-1000 but I would recommend you do less than 500 at a time if you happen to have that many. Also the more transaction you select the longer it will take after you click on "Send" button 13) Once you have the transaction selected Click "OK" to close out of the Coin Control screen 14) You should now be back at the "Send Coin" screen 15) Now click on the "Pay To:" Box and paste your account address. 16) Now look that the upper part of the "Send Coin" screen and "Right Click" were it says "After Feed" and select "Copy after feed" 17) Now click on the "Amount:" Box and paste the "After Feed" amount. 18) Now just click on send Repeat the steps as needed.

Using your method was a nightmare. I just moved the wallet.dat, created another wallet, copied address and just sent to the new wallet address in big chunks. All transferred. Thanks for the help though. anyone having issues with the wallet? It's running, but OMG is it ever slow.
