Looks like the price at cex.io crashed.

And the maintenance fees are ridiculous now.

Maintenance of 100 GH = $26 / month.

Revenue of 100 GH at current exchange rate (443) and current difficulty = just $83 / month.

In a few more months those GH won't be profitable at all.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Yup the idea of watching the value go down doesn't sound like a good deal.  Maybe the fees could be lowered?

This is all very new to me but I using it as a learning experience.  Hopefully others chose to do the same.

ghash burn?
Does that mean you like seeing the price go lower, or something else?

I took it to mean that bitpop found the current situation to be a form of amusement in way or another but that could be a misinterpretation on my part.

Bear markets are fun for some people, it depends on how much money you have to work with.
Almost everything related to mining will get hot again when BTC doubles in price and keeps going higher.

Correct, ghash=cex

People overpaying for mining in order to trade and scam others, supporting a pool that's too large. Very greedy.

At least it's not a situation where everyone is locked into an expensive multi-year contract.
The exchange provides a market, since it's overpriced you get a long down trend. At some point prices will (probably) be low enough to be a really great deal.
CEX.io is a site I intend to join, but haven't put a high priority on getting started.
