Hi all,

I'm looking for good fantasy books recommendations...I can't seem to find any to read these days. To give you a reference, I like high fantasy, epic fantasy, and sword and sorcery fantasy books.

Aside from that, my sister also reads fantasy, but she likes hers with romance (but must not overpower the fantasy aspects), so if you can give her some recommendations as well in this thread, that'll be great! I'll just pass the recs on to her.

Thanks lots!

You can start with GOT first and it will take a while to finish it .

I'll have to try that. I've read the entire series once, but that's it.  Cheesy Thanks!

I just wish GRRM could finish the entire series soon. I hate waiting between books, because then I'd forget what I had read in the previous books!

I recommend 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
An impressive book.
I am sure that you will enjoy from start to the end of the book.

If you've already read all of the books people have recommended in this thread, why not try reading Lord of the Rings?

I have an over sized, gorgeously illustrated copy of  The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle ,that is one of my favorites from when I was younger.

This is an incredible book -  Mary Gentle: Ash - A Secret History -it's dark, gritty and realistic, but still able to surprise and fascinate you as the story and world unfold. It's definitely an unappreciated book.

Cerebus the Aardwark by Dave Sim.
The trope Cerebus Syndrome is named after this mammoth series that dwarfs the colossal (6000+ to 1300+ pages) Bone comic series.

The Witcher by Sapkowski
A Fantasy about witcher named Gerald of Rivia. Great series of books with lots of humor, many fights and political intrigues. And there are also great games based on these books

Also Eaters of the Dead/ The Thirteenth Warrior.

And if SciFi is included, check out "Wool."

I surprised no one mentioned The Wonderful Wizard of Oz or Neverending Story yet. Such classics.
