How do you safely move colored coins using bitcoin wallet that doesn't support t

I've got bitcoin that has maidsafecoin on top of it via mastercoin.
How do I safely move those using bitcoin wallet that doesn't "see" colored coins? (like armory)

I can select to spend just those addressed that they are on, would that do it?
What if the fee is deducted from them?
