I've never directly interacted with the foundation, only watched a few videos online.  I didn't like how they are US based and headed by a very un-diverse group of individuals.  Trying to control and lead the world again.   Now reading this article and seeing that individual members don't even get to elect their own board members I will no longer pay attention to thus group.
I had considered becoming a member at one point because I want to support all initiatives, but now that is out of the question.

Bitcoin foundation: thank you for paying the lead developers salary, that's about all I can say.

That's kind of a lame list if you ask me.

Looks like all the good candidates from last year are no longer interested in running. Shame.

"None of the above" and Andres Bzurovski are tied for eighth place. lol

The foundation has become a silly joke to me now. They are so ineffectual and unnecessary that if they all spontaneously burst into flames and died tomorrow nothing would change. Bitcoin would just march on forward without them.

The bitcoin foundation has done nothing important, and we don't really need it.

This is not good thing as most ppl think it is.
Getting payed by "someone" makes that "someone" able to control you in a way.

Bitcoin should be open and not centralized / controlled by an individual or a group....this second part is failing harder as time passes and it will be main source of Bitcoin fall if it ever happens. I'm not saying Bitcoin will fail. Things can change any day, but if it does, it will be because of this (centralization and control that has it's source in fundation and ASIC's).

They're not needed and if we allow them to follow their agenda it will hurt bitcoin. TBF is an undemocratic closed lobbyist circle which supports governmental overregulation and is betraying the heart of bitcoin.

I support Luke.
And who is Bobby Lee? For the sake of momentary profit, he recently added Bitcoin #9 aka Litecoin to his exchange. He helps to undermine one of the most important features of Bitcoin - finite supply.

Lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way.

This statement is revealing enough. Most dictators would agree.  Roll Eyes

TBF fanboys don't like to have their primary source of self-confidence threatened. Relax, nobody will take away your cool TBF badge you've proudly collected...

Who cares I don't know anyone outside of the foundation who even cares what they have to say. Too much importance placed in a central entity in a de centralised system will end in disaster.

You don't know your history. Dictatorships offer only the choice to follow. Fortunately with bitcoin there is an opportunity to organize and effect change.  You can take charge of your future and shape it. That's called leadership. You can follow and support ideas and work with others toward a goal. Or you can cry like a baby while the world passes you by.
This is why your ideas will remain largely in your own head and buried in unread internet posts. While those who do something productive, like the foundation members, will shape the future. Of course the more the better. If you have other ideas about bitcoin then you should do some work to make it happen. But if your plan begins and ends with tearing other people down then I assume you don't actually have any ideas.

Let me give you the reality, No One would actually code and help develop something as complicated as Bitcoin without getting paid or it. Since Bitcoin is a very new thing to the world, we Do Need a foundation.

However, the current Bitcoin foundation has been plagued by scamming members etc, what we need are completely new members that would actually, activitely promote Bitcoin through paying for advertisements etc etc.

But we do need a foundation, or Bitcoin would end up as past memories in people's heads in a few years, as it would have no guidance and not much promotion. Nothing in this world is decentralized, everything has a central point in one way or another...

No One would actually code and help develop something as complicated as Bitcoin without getting paid or it.
Except Satoshi Nakamoto, who as of this post has not touched a single penny of his/her/their BTC wealth.

This may come as a surprise to the capitalists of the world, but money-making is not then only motivation for human behavior...

Remember Aaron Swartz, a 26 year old computer scientist who died defending the free flow of information.
