Some bad news for uruguay Suarez has been injured, for a couple of weeks.
I hope they dont miss there starplayer for this wk, would be very bad for them.
Suarez is a player that does anything to win!

Suarez is the best player in the Uruguay squad, by a long way. Without him, their chances of advancing to the PQF stage is near Zero. None of their other forwards are in good form.

The thing is that you don't need to be a prolific team going forward to advance. If you have a solid defence you can always get draws and nick a win from a counter attack or set piece.

I wouldn't rule them out, I think that they will go through with either England or Italy. I don't see Costa Rica getting enough points.

Yeh the Uruguayan squad they are south american fighters I wouldnt rule them out.
But he can still make the WK but without Suarez England would have alot more change to go trough

The only thing I have learned from this is that Euro people really hate the USA and don't want to give us any credit. Apparently unless USA is in Group E instead of France, then we automatically lose out.

The United States is not a major force as far as football is considered. Even the national team is mostly immigrant based. Europeans hate the US national team, because the Americans themselves hate football.  Grin

Wow... football is the no.1 sport globally, in terms of popularity. If Americans don't like the no.1 sport, then there can be two reasons.

1. The Americans have a very bad taste for sports.
2. The rest of the world is having a very bad taste for sports.

If we get out of this group, that means we deal properly with Portugal (CR7's team), Germany (World power of a team), and Ghana (Our nemesis).
If we get out...we will have done well, and no team would say that we got out easy. If we get out we shall not be the ones fearing.

Fair enough. I still hold hope our boys will do well, but I think Klinnsman has a lot more choices to make before next month.

Ghana and Portugal are beatable, and thus 2nd place is obtainable. If we ever want the respect of the rest of the world, we have to earn it, and here's our chance. We can do this. Also Portugal floundered into the world cup, they tied Israel x2, Northern Ireland, and beat Luxembourg 2-1. They only made the world cup because Cr7 went beast mode for a two game span.
Edit: Nate Silver projected the odds of advancement as Germany 93%, Portugal 40%, USA 39%, Ghana 29%. All is not lost.

Portugal and USA at almost the same odds? I really doubt that. It is true that the Portuguese depends too much on Christiano Ronaldo. But even the one-man army is enough to kick the US out of the group stage. My odds of advancement will be:

Germany: 90%
Portugal: 70%
USA: 30%
Ghana: 10%

Yeah gotta agree with that. CR on a good day can single handedly beat teams, we've seen it before and we'll see it again.

Ghana were ace last time around, but they are in a very tough group. I reckon the game between them and the US will be a good one, a draw would do neither any favours though...

USA vs Germany will be cool, Klinsmann vs Low. Epic!

If you want to make some money out of your predictions, you can bet on your favourite teams on Predictious (in Bitcoin of course!).

Here are the 2 markets about the World Cup:

If you're not familiar with Predictious, here is an example of how it works:
If you want to bet 1 bitcoin on "Nigeria will win the world cup", we can consider different scenarios depending on the price per share you’re willing to pay:
  • If you buy shares at 0.27mBTC each (this is the current offer on Predictious), then you need to buy 3704 shares (3704 * 0.27mBTC = 1Bitcoin). If you win, you will win 10mBTC per share, so you will win 3704 * 10mBTC = 37040mBTC = 37 Bitcoins (making a nice 36 Bitcoin profit)
  • If you buy shares at 1mBTC each, then you need to buy 1000 shares (1000 * 1mBTC = 1Bitcoin). If you win, you will win 10mBTC per share, so you will win 1000 * 10mBTC = 10000mBTC = 10 Bitcoins (making a 9 Bitcoin profit)
  • if you buy shares at 4mBTC each, then you need to buy 250 shares (250 * 4mBTC = 1Bitcoin). If you win, you will win 10mBTC per share, so you will win 250 * 10mBTC = 2500mBTC = 2.5 Bitcoins (making a 1.5 Bitcoin profit).
  • if you buy shares at 5mBTC each, then you need to buy 200 shares (200 * 5mBTC = 1Bitcoin). If you win, you will win 10mBTC per share, so you will win 200 * 10mBTC = 2000mBTC = 2 Bitcoins (making a 1 Bitcoin profit)

Of course you can bet on whatever team you think will win. So far it seems the favourite is Brazil as it has the highest asked price (2.65mBTC). It is still a sweet price, because if you invest 1BTC on Brazil at that price, you could make 3773 Bitcoins (or a 2.7BTC profit).

To summarize: if you buy a contract, you will win 10mB for each share of this contract you own (if you’re correct). On the other end, if you sell a contract (because you think an event will not occur), you win the price you sell for.

If you click on the Market depth tab, you can see the available ask/bid price (for example someone is selling 3 shares at 2.65mBTC; 10 shares at 2.85mBTC, etc.). However you can also set your own price, and wait for someone to take the opposite bet.
