You guys here the news about 2022 in Qatar today?  http://www.cbc.ca/sports/soccer/documents-allege-corruption-in-2022-world-cup-vote-1.2660963

More corruption.  Officials being payed off for votes.

This is a perfect example of how centralization leads to corruption.  A great example to demonstrate bitcoin's advantages over centrally controlled government currencies.

Really looking forward to World Cup!!

Being in Asia sucks though as the games are all between 1am and 7am Sad

Pulling for Korea and Mexico to have good showings.
Peace

You guys here the news about 2022 in Qatar today?

Also, don't forget the fact that the Qatari Sheikhs used slave labour from India and Nepal to build the stadiums. I heard that more than 1,000 of the workers were either killed or handicapped during the construction process.

Not too dissimilar from how the US railroad was originally built. Exploitation everywhere... :-/

Though Brazil stands a good chance of winning the cup this year but I guess they might have to wait for the next one, because this year Germany is going to win for sure.. Cool

That would be impressive if they did. Only South American teams have won World Cups hosted within the Americas, North, Central and South American hosted World Cup Finals.

It is Brazil's to lose in my mind, though I think that all of the South American teams (and Mexico) will do well.

The US railroad was built many many decades ago. It is surprising that this sort of slavery even exists now. Even more surprising is the silence of various human rights organizations, in this regard.

Yes... my guess also. Brazil, Argentina, Spain and Germany. But Uruguay and Italy are having outside chances. Remember that Uruguay has historically performed well in Brazil.

You may be surprised/not surprised (delete as appropriate) to see that the World hasn't changed so much, even through its pretty facade.

It's only high profile events like the World Cup that really put the focus, even just for a short while, on the practices used by many countries.

Brazil has the home advantage -though they don't seem too happy about the competition as a whole, so maybe they won't get allot of public support- Interesting to watch anyway.

Yeah from what I hear the Brazilians are mostly upset about both the Cup and the Olympics, because of corrupt politicians. Having said that, players tend to not care about politics or anything else as long as they are given an environment where they can play the game at the highest level with the best players in the world. So I don't think it will affect them.

Yes alot of Brazilians are upset, they are protesting against the WK because it cost's alot of money to host it.
While there are really poor people living in the favela's, it must be really hard to live there.
I also saw some things about the brazilian police killing children and people living on the streets
To clean Brazilie up for the WK, So the world thinks its all good.

Its just not a Brazilian case its happen in most of developing countries because authorities use Police power to solve this problems and not giving poor right to live good life just concentrating their own luxuries  Sad

Apart from Spain I would love to see a European team winning the world cup in south America - Never been done before.

On the semi finals there will be 2 European teams and 2 American latin teams you can be sure of that ;-)

Many Peoples already predicated about four team which are going to reach Semi Final but some upset also can happen because we have some Dark Horses this time like Croatia and Belgium
