Can we get the option of seeing our reports that get marked as bad? I got a bad report yesterday for the first time in a while and I have no idea what it was for. I understand they're kept on the system for two weeks so I think it'd be beneficial if we could see the ones that have been rejected. This way at least people can learn from their mistakes and get a general idea of what should and shouldn't be reported.

You reported some thread regarding a trade or something which actually fit the section. And yeah, I know it was only one . Don't worry too much, some mods have accuracies as low as 60% I think and it's still considered a good rating.

Regarding useless welcome threads, keep reporting them. However some introductions actually have important question or are overall substantial. Try to report those who have none of what was mentioned and contain only one or two sentences.

I noticed 5, I think. Most of them, even though handled already, were changed/moderated/deleted so it's not worth posting them. It really depends on the moderator which handles them.

Well, I'm not the dev here, nor the admin. If you want such feature (being able to see which of your reports were handled and how), make a thread in the "New forum software" (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=167.0) and if it gets enough attention, it might get included.

It will. I think if some people report posts and they get a bad report it'll put a lot of people off reporting more especially if they're not aware why or what it was for. Also, a lot of people really don't know what should be reported. Like, I think the majority of people would initially think that scams should be reported, but as we all know the mods don't handle these. A consolidated sticky or post in Meta that can be linked to with what posts should and shouldn't be reported would be helpful.

In the last two weeks, you have had 7 bad reports. From what I can tell, all but two should have been marked as handled instead of bad, since action was eventually taken on them. (However, I can't tell if the action was related to your report, so take that with a grain of salt...)

As for Global Mods, we aren't ever checked for accuracy like most people are. Once a month, theymos will spot-check a random sampling of our mod actions to ensure that they were proper. The results of that check are used as a factor in determining how much we get paid.

Ah ok, I see where I went wrong on those. I guess sometimes it's a tough call on some instances, but hopefully I wont make the same mistakes now.

Much of it is interpretation of mods and not everyone sees things the same way. Sometimes we misread or misunderstand the poster or content of post. Things I thought were surefire trash/junk/spam were deemed valid. That's why I have all but stopped reporting unless it is "broke over your head blatantly obvious".
All in all the mods do a good job.

Please don't be discouraged from reporting things that could be interpreted either way. I know that the gamification system seems to discourage that, but that's the fault of the system, not your reports. Let me quote what I recently said about this in terms of being invited to be a mod:

Your success rate doesn't actually matter all that much. If you're above 60%, we'll teach you the rest once you become a mod. As long as you can maintain that, quantity of reports is much more important than quality. Specifically, we're looking for people who report things during time periods where the reports aren't immediately acted on, because that indicates a need for additional moderators for that time block. People who report things during those time are far more likely to be chosen, and you're more likely to report during those times if you report more in general.
