Daniel Larimer of Bitshares explains how cryptocurrencies can be viewed as shares in Distributed Autonomous Companies (DACs).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mwmlJICyRA

By this logic of viewing cryptocurrencies as shares in a company, Bitcoin (the company) spends hundreds of millions of dollars a year just to pay their employees (miners) for security, and gives no voting rights or dividends to normal shareholders (the holders and users of the bitcoin currency).

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

You can get a stake in all future Invictus DACs by buying PTS or donating for AGS (look at bitshares.org).

Yeah, its a plug, but I remember being unhappy having missed the NXT IPO (and have been panning it ever since Cheesy) and I don't want others to have this excuse when it comes to Bitshares.

Finally there's a testnet working pretty stable, fast and secure:

They also have a list of advantages over Bitcoin. You can read over it here:
https://github.com/BitShares/bitshares_toolkit/wiki/WhyBitShares

Some other pretty amazing tech is in place with their most recent wallet:
https://github.com/BitShares/bitshares_toolkit/wiki/AYNTK_TITAN
https://github.com/BitShares/bitshares_toolkit/wiki/AYNTK_Voting

I like the fact that they use stealth-addresses by default .. very cool

i dont wanna be a shareholder of this hoax

~CfA~

Me too! These guys are having a laugh!
So what if they're releasing a bunch of awesome stuff all at once for DAC's that are actually profitable, I'm with you, Bitshares is crazy loco Esse  Cool I'm just going to cross my fingers and hope some Bitcoin/NXT clone with one arbitrary innovation is somehow going to make me rich instead...

i dont wanna be a shareholder of this

Maybe you should heed some ancient wisdom.

Besides, BitShares has a wiki now, it is easy to stay informed http://wiki.bitshares.org/

Just watching this - and suggested people watch it on our Reddit -

Just a point Dan

that's not how a bank works (jn the west) - you are talking about "full reserve Ratio" banking - but that's not super important.

I think the space generally can be simplified, but i think Dan has some good ideas.

That is a lot of money actually.

Especially when you consider that Bitcoin is going to 6000$ within 60 days, and PTS is going to 20 dollars.  Grin Grin
