Hello Everyone,

I'm trying to restore my wallet from its seed on a new computer since my old hard drive crashed.

As soon as I input the seed to restore it, it generated my receiving addresses, but it said I had no history, and it is showing zero balance. My old wallet did have transaction history and a balance, so I'm confused as to what's going wrong.

I'm not quite as technical as a lot of Bitcoin users, so I'm unsure how to trouble shoot this. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Welp, I just figured out the problem and of course it was user error.

There was a typo on one of my seed words, and although it was an actual word included on the Electrum recovery list, it just so happened to be the wrong word. I'm just glad I was able to figure it out!

When I used the proper seed it fully restored right away.

BIP39 seeds have checksums in 'em to detect situations like these. I don't know whether Electrum will be adopting the same mnemonic format or not. The new Electrum HD wallet seeds will be 13 words by default so maybe it is.
