Rand Paul Puts Clinton Book Up for AuctionHillary Clinton sent Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul a signed copy of her book this week, and now he’s putting it up for auction. The Republican presidential hopeful inscribed Clinton’s book “Hard Choices” with an attack on her leadership at the State Department, which is now listed on eBay for auction, along with a signed copy of Paul’s own book, “Taking a Stand.” “Your refusal to provide security to our mission in Benghazi should forever preclude you from higher office!” Paul wrote, next to his signature. “Senator Rand Paul is a big fan of fiction,” Paul spokesman Sergio Gor said in a statement. “Hard Choices is a great example of revisionist history. We encourage everyone to bid and get their own copy now!” ... http://time.com/4065536/rand-paul-hillary-clinton-book-auction/

Alex Jones Endorses Rand Paul: ‘America Needs Real Change’In late September, Rand Paul announced that he had been endorsed by eight people: Fox News’s John Stossel; his own father, former congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul; Reps. Mick Mulvaney, Justin Amash, Thomas Massie, Cynthia Lummis, and Raul Labrador; and Ultimate Fighting Championship Hall of Famer Pat Miletich. Paul can now add one more name to that impressive list: professional conspiracy theorist and iodine salesman Alex Jones, host of the Alex Jones Show and founder of http://www.Infowars.com. On Tuesday, the reclusive right-wing blogger Matt Drudge ( http://www.drudgereport.com) made a surprise appearance in Jones’s studio while the radio host was on the air. Jones could hardly contain his excitement, and the pair proceeded to have an in-depth conversation about the media and politics, with Drudge warning several times that the United States is in danger of ending up with “Hillary’s brain in the Oval Office in a jar.” I texted Jones on Wednesday while I watched the interview to ask him if he agreed with Drudge’s assertion that Clinton is, besides being unfit for the presidency ideologically, too old and unwell to serve. “She is too corrupt and evil!” Jones replied. “America needs real change.” When I asked if there were any candidates he thinks are not corrupt and evil, he said, “Rand Paul for sure.” ... http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/10/07/alex-jones-endorses-rand-paul-america-needs-real-change.html

Rand Paul Backs Effort To ‘Get A Conservative In The Speakership’Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, running for president as a Republican, says he is supportive of the effort by some of the more conservative House members to use their leverage “to get a conservative in the speakership.” In a Wednesday interview with The Daily Caller, Paul made it clear he would like to see House Republicans support someone other than House majority leader Kevin McCarthy. “They need new blood outside of leadership,” Paul said. “And I think it would be great if they nominate somebody that’s just been elected three times or less. Because I think really the longer people are part of the system, the less likely they are to really change the system. I think the system really needs to be shaken up.” Read more: http://dailycaller.com/2015/10/07/rand-paul-backs-effort-to-get-a-conservative-in-the-speakership/#ixzz3o0wJFTn9

Rand Paul "Cut their Card"Sen. Rand Paul is putting his own mark on the debate over raising the nation’s debt limit, starting a new campaign geared towards getting the federal government to cut what he considers wasteful spending. Called “Cut Their Card,” the new push coincides with the approaching deadline for Congress to raise the debt ceiling, which limits the amount of money the federal government can borrow. The U.S. Treasury has said the current deadline is November 5th. The Paul campaign is releasing a series of web-only videos that decry federal overspending – the first two note that the government spends $180,000 a year studying the effect of cocaine on the sexual habits of Japanese quail (which the fact-checking site Politifact notes is actually part of a study on human sexuality). ... http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/rand-paul-cut-nations-credit-card/story?id=34352616

Rand Paul: ‘It Would Be Terrible’ if Hillary Were ‘In Charge’ of NSASen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said Wednesday that he would not trust Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton to have authority over the National Surveillance Agency. In a phone interview with TheBlaze, Paul reacted to a recent comment made by Matt Drudge. The Internet-news mogul said he would trade places with Edward Snowden if Clinton came to power, contending the Democrat would use her authority over the NSA to crush dissent. Paul agreed that Clinton would not be an ideal person to oversee the agency, but added he is skeptical of everyone. “I think it would be terrible if Hillary Clinton were in charge of that data given her personal inconsistencies with where she keeps her own,” Paul told TheBlaze. “But I think either Republican or Democrat, we ought to check them.” ... http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2015/10/07/rand-paul-it-would-be-terrible-if-hillary-were-in-charge-of-nsa/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=story&utm_campaign=ShareButtons

Chris LaCivita reverted to Senate campaign.Paul's team insists the candidate can run successfully for both offices at the same time. Just last month, Paul demonstrated his commitment to running simultaneously for both by ponying up $250,000 to pay for the Kentucky GOP to hold a presidential caucus instead of a primary — circumventing a Kentucky law that prevents a candidate from being on the ballot for two offices. About three-quarters of executive committee members signed on to Paul's plan. Meanwhile, his Senate campaign is staffing up, bringing on Chris LaCivita, the strategist who helped turn around Kansas Sen. Pat Roberts' faltering reelection bid last year, as a senior adviser. Longtime Paul hand Doug Stafford is also advising the Senate bid. ... http://www.politico.com/story/2015/10/pro-campaigns-randsenate-robillard-214597#ixzz3o7MCRUOF

Rand Paul: Unholy Alliance Between Right & Left To Increase SpendingSEN. RAND PAUL: I just had a vote today where I was the lone Republican to vote against the defense spending and this extra war funding on top of that. The problem with our deficit is, if you are truly a conservative, you have to look at both the military and domestic welfare. Instead we have the opposite. An unholy alliance between right and left up here. The right wants more military spending. The left wants more domestic. What happens? They come together and spend more on everything, that is why we are in $18 tillion in debt. That is why I am the only conservative runnning on either side, because I am the only one willing to cut both... ... http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2015/10/09/rand_paul_unholy_alliance_between_right__left_to_increase_spending.html

Why The Patriot Act is Tyranny and Rand Paul is a HeroSenator Rand Paul is taking a lot of heat from establishment Conservatives and some in the media for his unwavering stand against the Patriot Act. The party line that is emerging says that we are now vulnerable to terrorist attack. Even Senator Paul, himself, said he was being accused of damaging America’s defenses against such attacks. These accusations are almost humorous considering that many of these same establishment Republicans have refused to force Barack Obama to enforce immigration laws. That fact now allows literally anyone who wants to harm our nation to cross over the border and to not only remain here, but also to receive tax payer benefits and perhaps even the right to vote. Reportedly, Obama is allowing people from the same Middle Eastern nations that give rise to terrorism to flood into our nation at horrific rates. Newly announced presidential candidate Lindsey Graham is especially guilty of this let down in American security as he has pushed for policies to open our borders even further. So too have Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush. Has anyone accused them of damaging American national security? ... http://americanpolicy.org/2015/06/18/why-the-patriot-act-is-tyranny-and-rand-paul-is-a-hero/

Paul: ‘We’re in an absurd situation’ in the discussion on climate changeTo what extent are humans responsible for the Earth’s changing climate? Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul said that’s a discussion that’s impossible to have – in a logical way – in the United States right now. “It has become sort of like you’re a Holocaust denier if you question any of the religious cult that says, ‘You have to believe as I do.’ I think we’re in an absurd situation,” the U.S. senator from Kentucky said on Friday. In an interview with the Monitor’s editorial board, Paul said the planet has seen enormous changes in climate in its 4.5 billion-year history, including times when “we had carbon a thousandfold more than we have now.” The ophthalmologist ridiculed those who would draw conclusions based on an observance of one stormy season and said scientists’ reports on climate change “are not nearly as doctrinaire as the conclusions that you hear from many people in the lay public.” “I don’t think anybody in this room knows how much is nature and how much is man. What I can tell you is, if you read the general lay press, everybody’s like, ‘Oh yeah, it’s all man. It’s 99 percent man.’ They’re convinced of this. They know nothing about (it) – and nobody knows. It’s a conjecture,” he said. ... https://politics.concordmonitor.com/2015/10/gov-federal/paul-were-in-an-absurd-situation-in-the-discussion-on-climate-change/

Rand Paul On Bernie Sanders: Nothing “Sexy Or Cool” About Socialism[It] wasn’t an accident that Stalin killed millions of people or Mao Zedong killed millions of people.Referencing the mass murder that occurred under Joseph Stalin and Mao Zedong, Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul said Americans should be wary of the socialism of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who is running for president as a Democrat. “I think it’s very important for Americans not to succumb to the notion that there’s anything sexy or cool about socialism,” the senator from Kentucky said. “Bernie’s a socialist and ultimately socialism relies on force or implied force and it’s, you know, [it] wasn’t an accident that Stalin killed millions of people or Mao Zedong killed millions of people because you want to control the economy and you want to control ownership of things by the state. You have to forbid other people from owning parts of the economy or controlling parts of the economy.” Paul also said be concerned about who is going to pay for Sanders’ policy proposals. “So I think it’s really important that people understand that there is no free lunch when Bernie offers you something for free. He’s going to take it from somebody else first and then all they’re doing is obscuring who pays for it, but ultimately somebody has to pay for things. And so if you want free college for those that go to college, those that don’t go to college and work will be paying for your college. So nothing’s really on the surface. What appears to be free isn’t free,” Paul said. Audio.... http://www.buzzfeed.com/markarce/rand-paul-links-bernie-sanders-to-millions-of-deaths-under-m#.ssyPZek3d

Breaking: Rand Paul Wins RLC Convention Straw PollRand Paul has won the 2015 RLC Straw Poll held at the RLC National Convention spanning the weekend of October 8th-11th in Nashua, New Hampshire. The sold out event, with 750 attendees, saw an active presence from multiple campaigns. Paul garnered 445 votes compared to his nearest competitor Ted Cruz with 399 votes followed by Ben Carson (139), Carly Fiorina (79), Marco Rubio (75), Donald Trump (54) and Bobby Jindal (51). RLC Chair Matt Nye had this to say about the straw poll results: “This outcome is not surprising, Rand has topped our polls for some time and enjoys some of the support of his father’s activists. Cruz’s strong showing must come as good news to his camp. It’s a great time to be part of the liberty Republican movement. In the past we’ve had only one candidate to choose from, and this cycle we have two solid liberty candidates, both of whom are committed to defending liberty and the constitution.” ... http://truthinmedia.com/rand-wins-republican-liberty-caucus-straw-poll/

Rand Paul wins ‘liberty voter’ straw poll, Ted Cruz claims otherwise Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) came out ahead of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) in a weekend straw poll of libertarian-leaning Republican activists, but the Texan claimed victory anyway -- the latest gritted-teeth exchange between two candidates brawling for a similar base. "Liberty unites people, and I am honored to win the Republican Liberty Caucus straw poll," Paul said in a statement. "I will continue to represent the Liberty wing of the Republican Party." In a separate statement, released moments later, Cruz's campaign claimed a "major upset among libertarian voters" had occurred at a conference in Nashua, New Hampshire. "We are very encouraged by the growing support we are seeing among liberty voters in the early states and across the country,” Cruz said. "If I'm elected president, libertarian voters across the country can be confident that I will continue to stand for the U.S. Constitution at every turn.” The math was kinder to Paul, who has led Cruz in endorsements from libertarian-leaning New Hampshire Republican legislators since the start of the presidential race. Both men spoke to the Republican Liberty Caucus meeting. Paul won 445 votes to 399 for Cruz, in a preference test that combined votes for first-choice candidates and for anyone that voters found acceptable. (Former neurosurgeon Ben Carson trailed with 139 votes, while former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina ran fourth with 79.)Behind the scenes, Cruz allies had sown doubts about whether Paul's campaign was still competitive with the sort of "liberty" voters who were inspired to enter politics by his father, former Texas congressman Ron Paul. One rumor had Paul desperately busing in supporters from his home state of Kentucky. Another rumor had staff deserting the campaign as the Cruz juggernaut gathered momentum. Paul's campaign made no attempt to conceal its pleasure at besting Cruz. "While Ted Cruz worked hard and bussed people in, he ultimately did not resonate with liberty lovers," said Paul spokesman Sergio Gor. "Ted Cruz came, Ted Cruz saw, Ted Cruz was conquered."Cruz spokesman Rick Tyler said flatly that the campaign had not bussed anyone in to the conference, but confirmed that 25 tickets had been purchased for supporters. The campaign's post-vote statement led with how Cruz had won "51 percent" of the vote, based on the strange combined count. (According to this math, Paul won 57 percent of the vote.) Paul's campaign, which has grappled with weeks of stories about whether the candidate can even make it to the New Hampshire primary, was not so coy. "One thing it should tell you is who has the better organizational muscle for conventions and caucuses," said Paul strategist Doug Stafford, who had previously laughed off a rumor that he'd abandoned the campaign for a struggling pro-Paul super PAC. "We don't spend all weekend planting stories about winning polls that require organization. We just win them." https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2015/10/10/rand-paul-wins-liberty-voter-straw-poll-ted-cruz-claims-otherwise/

Rand will make history later today by going live all day on camera.Have you ever wondered what it would be like to hit the campaign trail with a presidential candidate? Typically, only staffers, maybe a few select reporters and the candidate themselves would know. Rand Paul wants to make history. On Tuesday, the Paul campaign says it will give an unprecedented insider’s look at what campaign life really entails for an entire day—something no other presidential candidate has ever done. The Paul campaign’s Chief Digital Strategist Vincent Harris told Rare, “In an effort to continue his efforts to run the most digital savvy and transparent campaign on either side of the aisle, Senator Paul will be the first Presidential candidate to live-stream an entire day on the campaign trail.” The live stream, which will be able to be viewed through the campaign’s Facebook and UStream.tv pages, will begin with Paul’s morning in Iowa and will last throughout the entire day. The coverage will wrap up Tuesday night with Paul reacting live to the Democratic debate—the first time Hillary Clinton will have to face Bernie Sanders and the rest of her competitors. Now that could be fun. ... http://rare.us/story/on-tuesday-rand-paul-will-become-the-first-candidate-to-live-stream-an-entire-day-on-the-campaign-trail/#TAiiBvm8fH3IWilD.99http://rare.us/story/on-tuesday-rand-paul-will-become-the-first-candidate-to-live-stream-an-entire-day-on-the-campaign-trail/

Vince Vaughn (major US actor) talks about his libertarian beliefs, film-making and Rand PaulVince Vaughn says “the message of individual liberty and peace is contagious,” even in Los Angeles, a city regarded as a progressive haven. The Hollywood A-lister made his comments at the Young Americans for Liberty California state convention Saturday, where students gathered at UCLA to listen to the actor, screenwriter and producer discuss about one of his favorite subjects—liberty. To Vaughn, spreading liberty means talking about it. While he says he does occasionally share his thoughts on economic and political issues with his co-stars, it is not his primary focus. Being open about his views when asked, Vaughn said, helps others to find the courage to “come out.” But what about movies? Could Hollywood help shape this generation’s political ideas? In Vaughn’s Couples Retreat, those who were patient enough to wait for the end of the credits listened to character Shane (actor Faizon Love) calling the Federal Reserve “a pimp.” When asked whether he inserts libertarian messages into his films, Vaughn claimed his primary concern as a screenwriter is to develop characters.
